The Times reporting Chris Ashton has signed for Sale Sharks
Thats surely going to cause some problems there, you’d imagine sale are going to have 3 wingers all looking to get the at best one England wing spot, Solomona is currently there, and you’d imagine Yarde still fancied his chances, but then it could be hard for any of them with May pretty much locked in, then Nowell and Watson to come back, possibly Daley may very no back to the wing, also possibly Cokanasiga and Ibitoye if they get game time with Bath and Harlequins.
If only we had such issues at centre.

Don't forget McGuigan is a very good player too so one of those might miss out for Sale

I wouldn’t be surprised if McGuigan doesn’t try to get himself a move to Scotland, after he had such a break though season last year.

Agree. Ashton generally played 15 for Toulon I believe, and Sale have a vacancy with Haley headed over to Ireland.

There's a massive difference between playing 15 at Toulon in the French league than playing there for Sale in the AP. He will get shown up there imo so I hope Sale do!

Signing just confirmed by BBC
9 de Klerk
10 O’Connor
11 Yarde
12 vans Rensburg
13 James
14 Solomona
15 Ashton
On paper looks like a thrilling attacking team, but both vans Rensburg and Ashton very weak defensively so when we play them next we must target them two as well as ruffle de Klerk’s feathers.

Not quite as good as:
Youngs
Ford
Toomua
Tuilagi
May
Holmes
Veainu

That comment was pointless Ellis all I said was
On paper looks like a thrilling attacking team
and I went on to say that Vans Rensburg and Ashton are very weak defensively. Nowhere did I say that their backline was better than ours.

Just like you was last season?
*were (Just like you WERE last season)
We finished top 6 did we not? I started off by saying top 4 and we were very close to finishing in the top 4 but I always believed we'd finish top 6 when others didn't.

Why was it pointless? You made a comment of saying how good on paper the Sales backline looks and I responded by saying it doesn't look as good as ours. I am allowed to say that, whether you think it's pointless or not. What's the issue?

Personally I'd have Ashton in the England team with May and Brown.
Suit a George Ford/Owen Farrell 10/12 also in my opinion as Ashton has the ability to straighten it up more often for them both.
I read a piece on Samoa containing five Bristol players, unfortunate for the young English lads down there in my opinion.
