Have I missed something?
Nope just hasn’t found a club willing to met his wage.

I suspect Glasgow are keen but are still negotiating.

Also Tigers marketing dept like to have their cake and eat it during the summer. When announcing players taking part in international matches, they include any player who has signed for us for next season and any player who played for us "last" season (even if they are leaving).

"South Africa No 8 Duane Vermeulen will leave Toulon at the end of the season, club president Mourad Boudjellal confirmed on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old will return to South African side Stormers, the club he left to join Toulon in 2015."

https://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/Springb ... t-20180122

"
It was confirmed last week by Vermeulen's French Top 14 side Toulon that the 31-year-old would be leaving the club.

Toulon said Vermeulen wanted to return to South Africa to prepare adequately for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

However, it was reported over the weekend that Vermeulen would first make a stop in Japan before heading back to the country of his birth.

Netwerk24 reported on Saturday that Vermeulen could play for the Kubota Spears, before making South Africa his permanent home.

On Sunday, Afrikaans newspaper Rapport also indicated that Vermeulen would head to the Kubota Spears before returning to South Africa.

It’s uncertain which Super Rugby team he would join, despite the player having strong bonds with the Stormers.
"
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Apprently we have signed Centre Brendan Macken.
Personally I would be happy with that really.

Whilst I would like a big name I can't think of any who would be moving just yet.

Yep.
Kyle Eastmond (centre), Paul Doran Jones (prop), Matt Symons (lock) and Brendan Macken (centre) will all depart the Premiership semi-finalists at the conclusion of their current campaign.

Would still like tigers to take a chance on Eastmond, him and Ford where unplayable at times at Bath. But I’d imagine between his wage demands, attitude and injury record of late it doesn’t really make sense as he’d be 2nd choice behind Toomua.
Anyway I don’t really know much about Mackenzie but hopefully between him, Owen, Tait, Smith, Hardwick and Worth we’ll have abit more depth this year.

Brendan Macken Centre was a Irish U20 player so may be a good asset but I still want to see Gareth Owen perform to the full. So Michele Rizzo has gone to Petrarca then.
I find the lack of movement charts rather low this year but at least Wiki has one, with lots of big names still not relocated as many teams are downsizing by the looks of it, either by numbers or playing potential. I feel Tigers have enough potentials in the tank, possibly a bit light in the experienced props.
