I guess the big question is who we bring in now. MOC has said we are looking to bring in a prop and a lock. Mostert has now signed for Gloucester and the Mafi deal now seems off.

Tigers bring in two quality players then I guess all is rosy and we’re all happy. However, Tigers fail to address these two positions and I imagine loads of people will be disappointed and angry with the club.

We missed out on the top 4 spot. Therefore we need investment in the squad. Not in money because we are apparantly paying up to the cap but in quality players. We need a class no.3, no.4 and no.14/15 in my opinion on top of those we have already signed.

You don't have to sign world class to do well though.
Look at chiefs and Falcons for example.
When Bath signed Charteris and Faletau people said they would be a top 4 team, which hasn't worked out so far.

If we're actually going to play the youngsters we should be ok in the backs (Hardwick, Worth & Olowofela) . I wouldn't mind a second big mobile back (manu being our only one).

Back row looks improved and not bank breaking. Extra TH cover would be nice but with Bateman could probably look at either side. 2nd row has been improved and assume we're looking for another improvement there.

I'd say Shields isn't better than Haskell & Thompson (disclaimer: haven't seen shields play) squad wise and they've brought in a lot of untested players.

We just need to catch up with Exeter coaching and Sarries squad. Which I think we should hopefully do.

Haven't we got Cole, Cilliers and Cortes at TH for next season with Heyes as a development option. Loosehead concerns me more where we have Genge and Bateman then I presume nobody as Mulipola has gone to Falcons, Rizzo has left and Traynor is surely not being retained. Unsure whether Hills is still in the development squad or not.

We could really do with another loosehead and maybe someone that can play both sides (other than Bateman who I think needs to concentrate on scrummaging at LH).

We will finish higher than Gloucester. Trust me.

We have Facundo Gigena as the 3rd loosehead. Details here: https://www.leicestertigers.com/player/facundo-gigena

Knew I was forgetting somebody. He's a little light in action at this level. If Genge is regularly on international duty (as he should be) then Gigena is going to see a lot of game time next season.

The SARU must be furious that Ackermann is contributing to his own country’s rugby problems, but just look at this potential side for next season:

1 Rapava Ruskin (a top quality prop, injured a fair bit)

2 James Hanson (capped Wallaby)

3 Ruan Dreyer (Springbok capped)

4 Grobler (Was a drug cheat but has played well for Munster)

5 Mostert (World Class)

6 Kriel (Great signing, never seemed to thrive at international level)

7 Polledri (Huge fan of this bloke)

8 Morgan (finally playing well consistently for Gloucester)

9 Vellacott (such a prospect)

10 Cipriani (Might be there just for England but still an excellent signing)

11 Purdy (Classy winger)

12 Twelvetrees (Rejuvenated)

13 Trinder (This guys great too)

14 Marshall (Good winger, can play at fullback too I think)

15 Woodward (Love this guy)

This is leaving out Slater, Ludlow, Ackermann Jr would probably be on the bench, Sharples etc

Owen Williams must feel a bit sick having left Tigers for big money at the green grass of Glous, but with Billy Burns & Cipriani ahead of him & his lack of game time is seeing his Welsh chances diminish.
Perhaps we could trade a Ford J in and give Owen a cheap Pickup! :smt045

JP14, don't forget Banahan as well. Although not as good as he once was, I am sure he will still make an impact when needed.

As I thought. Ours looks better.

Didn’t know Denton played lock! Although we have Spencer, would take Grobler or Mostert as his partner over our other options.

Isn't Van Rensburg at Gloc? Lewis Moody saying the wheels will come off further,I agree. League will be even tougher this year, playing for RCC rugby anything else is a bonus. Further regression!

Did think Tigers could put in a cheeky 'come home' bid for OW, be a good bridge too while U20s resolve/move up. His future looks dire, Dragons at best.

Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
