I think that's where the deal broke down. Glynn went to speak to the player on Wednesday to seal the deal but came back with no deal.strawclearer wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 10:01 amOk - my info [and earlier post] that Ged Glynn went over to talk to Nephi Leatigaga a week last Wednesday was as a result of the Rugby Paper report. I was told that he’s contracted to Biarittz for another year and that Tigers are trying to get him released.ellis9 wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 8:32 amAccording to The Rugby Paper on Sunday, the player was signed. Later that day, someone said that the deal was off. Remember of course, the paper was printed before Sunday.strawclearer wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 3:13 pm
Have you heard that this week? It was certainly still 'on' last Sunday.

Well - all I can tell you is that Sunday evening it was as I've reported.ellis9 wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 11:01 amI think that's where the deal broke down. Do we think there will be more signings other than those already announced?

Faint whiff of another season of half-assed signings......
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

No, but no real replacement for Logo until last minute (if we hadn't offered him a contract in January, surely we were looking at Props to bring in... something has gone wrong there), and still no real alternative to Ford Toomua at 10 and 12.
I've said it so many times - if you do not have competition for places, first choice players deteriorate. Cole and Ford are prime examples for that.

Going to have to use Worth and Hardwick more next season. They've both shown good promise so far and we'll be looking for them to step up. If they are rotated in alongside one of Ford or Toomua with an experienced player at 13 then we should see them develop.TTRITH wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 3:55 pmNo, but no real replacement for Logo until last minute (if we hadn't offered him a contract in January, surely we were looking at Props to bring in... something has gone wrong there), and still no real alternative to Ford Toomua at 10 and 12.

Re: Leatigaga. Seen this reported in France...
“Arrived last summer in the Basque Country, Nephi Leatigaga will he still wear the BOPB jersey next season? Still under contract until 2019, the Samoan pillar arouses many. According to Sud Ouest, Leicester would be interested in his profile. "We are talking about an offer between 100,000 and 150,000 euros," says the regional newspaper. A substantial sum
Except that the Biarrots do not listen and do not intend to let slip the player, 24 - who appeared 19 times this season. "The players under contract will stay," says Gonzalo Quesada

According to this these are the top 10 players still available to be signed - I would suggest that not many, if any would be a fit for us.

Neither would I but we seem to have gaps in midfield plus a problem at 10 IMO as well as the well-known issue over Logo.

I don't think 10 is a problem.
We either have a 10 problem or a midfield problem not both IMO one right signing should fix both.
But that's more depth issue than half-ass signings.

We have an easily fixable MF problem obvious for all to see bar MOC!
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 1
10 and midfield we have to start using Hardwick, Worth and Olofowa more and Owen was starting to show some form when he got that really unfortunate injury on Saracens plastic, hopefully he will more available far more next season.
The Mulipola situation is I agree with, though it seemed as though Falcons forced his hand, and hopefully the Euros will talk in Biarittz.
As an aside I hope I’m wrong, but I think that this could prove to be a bad move for Mulipola, not financially, but I don’t see how his knees in particular are going to react playing on a plastic pitch for a dozen plus games per season, and he will be one of their starting props
