Re: Anglo no more Welsh Cup
As you say..........meh.
Would have been slightly more interested if Championship sides were involved and it was sold as a 'development' cup.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Re: Anglo no more Welsh Cup
Basically no change except no Welsh regions
Re: Anglo no more Welsh Cup
Derby day. so who will that be then Saints or Wasps? Are they classing Newcastle v Sale as a derby??Premiership Rugby Cup | How will it work?
Twelve Premiership teams in three pools of four.
Four pool-stage fixtures held during international windows.
'Derby day' round included.
Over £500,000 in prize money with incentives on every game.
Three pool winners and best runner-up qualify for semi-finals.
Final to be played at home ground of highest-seeded qualifier.
Final not at Twickenham* they obviously the crowds are not turning up for this one.
*I know it's not played at Twickenham now but it would be nice to have a grandstand finish.

Falcons-Sale
Tigers-Saints
Worcester-Wasps
Saracens-Quins
Exeter-Bristol
Bath-Gloucester
I know Bath and Bristol are closer to each other than the way I've split them but Bristol is the closest club to Exeter.

Re: Anglo no more Welsh Cup
Wasps isn't a derby for us IMO.
A Rivalry yes, Derby no.
Has to be saints. But can see the tv wanting it to be wasps v Tigers

They should of read this forum.
Re: Anglo no more Welsh Cup
Again Premiership Rugby fails to get a competition name that won’t be satirically adapted.
I bring you: The Probably Rubbish Cup!!!

Re: Anglo no more Welsh Cup
Yet more disincentive to sign English qualified players!
They should have made it a true development comp, limit players from the regular first team to those returning from injury, i.e those who have not played for 6 weeks, make it a minimum of 80%+ English qualified players and 60% academy players who have been with the club for over 12 months, teams that cannot fulfill these criteria lose point on a sliding scale, now that would show which teams are developing English talent and those that are shirking and just buying first team success without investing in the future.
Make participation compulsory for entry to the Premiership.
I should stop hoping for sense and foresight, we are talking about rugby administrators after all!

If you want to watch the development sides next year, there will be plenty opportunity. A 22 match league is introduced for A Teams next year.BengalTiger wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 2:21 pm Yet more disincentive to sign English qualified players!

And how many of those games will be called off because they can’t name a full team?Tigerbeat wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 4:03 pmIf you want to watch the development sides next year, there will be plenty opportunity. Players on loan at other Clubs will be back at the Club with the coaches able to use the players in these games.
Cant see many getting called off as all the Premiership Clubs are committed to the league, I believe.
