Tour to SA
Now the season is over and just the play offs to go, wonder what squad people think Jones should pick for the tour to SA.
Injuries permitting, hopefully he will pick some form players for once and rest some of the Lions from last year. For a 35-man squad I’d go with:
1. Genge, Marler, Hepburn
2. George, Cowan-Dickie, Taylor
3. Williams, Sinckler, Schonert
4. Launchbury, Isiekwe
5. Itoje, Spencer
6. Robshaw, Shields
7. Willis, O’Connor, Graham
8. Vunipola, Simmonds
9. Youngs, Robson
10. Ford, Cipriani
11. May, Woodburn
12. Farrell, Te’o
13. Daly, Trinder, Slade
14. Nowell, Wade
15. Brown, Woodward

Re: Tour to SA
Players like Marler, Robshaw, Itoje, Vunipola and Farrell would benefit from a summer off.
Shields should definitely not be parachuted straight into an England side, not having ever played English club rugby.
However, Sale's Jono Ross should certainly come into consideration along with young Mercer of Bath.

Re: Tour to SA
I think the 3 losses on the bounce have killed any chance of most of our big guns being rested sadly! Our next fixtures are SA,SA,SA,SA,NZ. We could be looking at 0/8. Razzie can pick his European based players now and the SA sides are ripping it up in Super Rugby at times with some great results. Decisions decisions.
Re: Tour to SA
Would love to see Joe Simmonds go as back up 10.
I suppose the issue with Exeter and Saracens players is that they are likely to still be with their club squads until after the premiership final on May 26th

Re: Tour to SA
Bored this afternoon so came up with starting team against The Barbarians on the 27th, without Saracens and Exeter players. I know I’m being a little ahead of myself but can’t see anything but comfortable home wins in the semis.
Backs - Woodward, Wade, Daley, Tuilagi, May, Cipriani, Robson.
Forwards - Genge, Taylor, Cooper-Woolley, Launchbury, Spencer, Ross, Willis, Wilson

Re: Tour to SA
Not convinced about Taylor, Singleton & Dunn are better in my opinion. What about Morgan for 8, he’s played really well recently. I don’t think either Cipriani or Wade will be played especially since Cipriani has given up. Don’t think Tuilagi will get the call up, he doesn’t think he will do.Mark62 wrote: ↑Sun May 06, 2018 6:06 pm Bored this afternoon so came up with starting team against The Barbarians on the 27th, without Saracens and Exeter players. Be nice to see Cipriani and Wade playing for the Barbarians if England don’t pick them
