Another rule I’d like to seee trialled:
If an attacking team player carries the ball and is held in the tackle (thus creating the maul) then teammates bind in as the player attempts to go to ground. If the player makes considerable ground and goes to the ground then the referee should call “Playable ball” meaning the opposition players must get up allow the scrumhalf/forwards to play the ball.
Do you agree/does that make any sense? I know it’s a real bugbear of Ben Kay when a back is held but he makes good ground and tries to fall to the ground but the ref just shouts turnover and it’s a scrum to the defending team. It’s not fair when teams get turned over after being in the advantage

Less Kiss has a lot to answer for! Personally I would go further and only allow mauls from lineouts, restarts and from kicks, its horrible in open play!

The choke tackle, ruining rugby matches since 2011.
Easy one for the law-makers to deal with, and it baffles me that they haven't.

Please explain further, did Les Kiss introduce choke tackling when defence coach at Ireland? I know he was a pretty good defensive winger in Rugby League back in the day.Rugbyflanker wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 5:13 pm Less Kiss has a lot to answer for!
