That can cause weakness/numbness and, if severe and hard to treat, chronic pain that's tough to bear. Awful news for the young man.

You're right. I posted that this morning before further details were released. According to the Beeb report he has a battle on to regain feeling in his arm at all. Gutted for the guy.

Terribly sad news - and such a shock since, as others have noted, it looked a relatively innocuous collision. I hope the prognosis eventually proves to be a less devastating one, and also that he can make a successful transition into a second career (5-8 years than he would have planned for).

It’s a sobering story, especially as the father of a rugby-playing 12 year old; I’ll be just that little bit more edgy watching him tomorrow morning.

Feel really gutted for such a great bloke. Let’s hope Saints and the rugby family can do something to support him. Saw Tim Barnwell get a serious injury v Bristol at Twickers in the John Player Cup but Until the ambulance was called for I hoped Horne’s injury wasn’t too serious. Very sad to end his rugby career so young. Good luck for the future.

Sad news and gutted for the player, his family, Saints and rugby in general. I wish him well in his future endeavours once he's come to terms with his unexpected situation.

All club rivalry and banter aside, I really feel for him.

I guess this is one reason why players should be expected to look for the best contracts and money they can secure, it's a short career anyway without sudden stops like this.
