Re: The Clash
Bath’s injury crisis a bit like Wasps: on the day they had a pretty decent squad out and we had more injuries! Bath will have what is arguably the best back row in the Premiership available for the first time in ages. Still, if Tigers want to get in the top 4/6 then this is a must win game. I am hoping we play a smarter game than we did last year; it was a fantastic game for the neutral but Bath’ s number 10 had a superb game behind a pack which provided quick ball. As for the team; Bateman has to start as he makes good ground and can score tries. Young’s had a good game apart from one lineout last week. Genge might need to come on as a finisher again just to build fitness.
Whatever happens we need points from this game. Come on TIGERS.

Re: The Clash
I agree, they are weak front row but nowhere else, they will be loaded and up for this make no mistake. It will be a stronger side than the one that narrowly lost to Exeter last league match
Less is more....
Re: The Clash
I expect the side to be something like,
Genge, TPN, Cole, Fitzgerald, Kitchener, Williams, O’Connor, Khalamafoni, Harrison, Ford, May, Toomua, Tait, Thompstone, Veianu.
Youngs, Bateman, Mulipola, Wells, Hamilton, Simmons, Worth, Holmes

Re: The Clash
Williams and BOC fit?!
Re: The Clash
They have been training. If not Hamilton and Mapapalanga in to start with Evans on the bench
Re: The Clash
Against Louw at the breakdown? I’d rather have Evans start with Hamilton on the bench.

Re: The Clash
Our front row should be terrorising theirs for the full 80 minutes. Not saying we will, just should be.
One would hope Jonny May and TV will be burning things up on this big stage.

Re: The Clash
Very even first XV. I'd say we have a definite edge in front row and back 3,them in the back row,the rest hard to call. I'd back our bench though, our replacement forwards should have too much. Should be a cracker!

Bath do have Philips on the bench though, massive unit.Rugbyflanker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 12:18 pm Very even first XV. Re: The Clash
Yes Philips is a beast, but would still prefer him than Mercer though.
Re: The Clash
Not many surprises there. Other than Jonny May being back so soon after being knocked out for several minutes. I do wish Holmes was given more of chance.
Overall I agree that our front and backline are stronger, but the backrow is weaker. It'll be close
