I am really disappointed in the club

Why not take the initiative - buy a shirt / flag. Take it to the next home game and wait after the game to get it signed?

Just like the many kids do who also want something to hang on their wall at home.

Or pop along to Oval Park at a convenient time and respectfully ask the players there?

There are many ways to get this done without firing an email to the club and expecting it for free.

Disappointed but not surprised, there is a cancer at the heart of Tigers administration and operations that has been present for at least the last 6 years if not even longer. This decision is yet another manifestation, Tigers really have to sort this out before outside bodies are brought in to investigate. Who knows what they will discover?

Based on factual and direct experience, admittedly going back a bit, but also from speaking with people still in, both my generation and the youngsters. Has brought back a few memories. Suggest you revise your opinion BFG.

All I apologise for put this topic up, it not a scrounging mission as many of you seem to think or imply, it was just to point out how rugby ethos / life has changed since becoming a professional sport.

Just for a little insight for those who have never experienced it, when you are away on deployed, be it in a hostile theatre nor not, or like this in a Islamic country were there is next to nowhere for you to socialise locally and were the locals really don't think very much of Westerners, or a nice sunny place, you still miss home, you still miss your wife and children and ANY little reminder of home or normality goes a very long way to making a deployment more bareable so again I apologise.

I'm not sure amateur sporting clubs give freebies to every non-charitable organisation or person who asks for them either...

What are you suggesting, mis management, fraud, theft, or as usual are you talking out of the orifice you’re meant to sit on.
Tigers as a business is run well, yes they may favour sponsors over the every day fan, and some commercial decisions may be unpopular, but to make accusations without proof is unacceptable

It may have escaped the notice of some but Tiger's do not run the shop and therefore have t o purchase shirts, balls etc that are given away. They, and the players to receive a kit allocation as part of the deal but extras have to be purchased. Noddy you recently stated you were not supporting your team at Twickenham for purely financial reasons, that is probably sound common sense. Why then is it then that a Rugby based business struggling to break even in the face of rising wage demands exercises judgement in the number of charitable donations it makes you describe it as a cancer?
Most businesses receive requests for donations and at the start of a year set a budget, sometimes for a good cause they may exceed the budget but most causes are good and a business like you and me cannot support them all and has to be selective.

With all due respect to Chobbsy I don't think it tells us anything about the club. Clearly this a personal and important thing for Chobbsy but to be blunt I have no idea what communuication between him and the club has taken place. It could well be that his request didn't have enough information, that the club misunderstood the request, or that the club had legitimate reasons to deny it or that he just caught someone on a bad day. Social media is both a blessing and a curse with these things. So I was disappointed the thread was started in the first place and equally disappointed that it had legs and turned into a lot of mud throwing based on very little factual information. I've had my own gripes with Tigers in the past (don't get me started on the match day experience and catering issues) and have some sympathy that they have gone a bit corporate but as I say feel this is more of a personal issue where we only have one side of the story.

They did consider it. Then they declined it, which they are well within their rights to do. This really shouldn't have been made such a big thing of. Tigers have done absolutely nothing wrong.

David Clayton gave this club its culture, far more than the Peters. His departure coincided with the decline that most people have noticed. Brand management has taken over at the cost of caring about supporters.
