In response to this, I replied saying "Maybe it's the Russians spreading Fake News!" To mildly amuse myself (if no-one else), I wrote this line in Russian!
It's been removed.....expunged.....censored - and I'm left wondering why.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Does anyone know if Dave Ewers has signed a new contract with Exeter, as the only info I can find is he signed a contract extension in 2015 till 2018. He would be a bad signing for us at 8. As he isn’t going to get to play there with Sam simmons.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!
Would Ewers add much that we don't have?
He's a very similar player to Mike Williams. You could argue Ewers carries a bit better and Williams is stronger in defence but what they offer is quite similar if we can get Williams playing to his potential.
Ewers hasn't played 8 for a long time either. Would he offer more from 8 than Mapapalangi can as a raw talent ball carrying. His control at the base would be worse than Kalamafoni, his ball retention and work rate aren't any better.
He's a good player and would improve our back row options but mainly by virtue of what we lack than what he'd add IMO.
I'd happily see a big signing at 8 brought with Mapapalangi and Kalamafoni able to cover 6 but I'd want a stronger 8 than Ewers.

I feel Ewers is miles a head of Williams, he’s big but runs at men doesn’t break the game line and drops the ball, he’s not a good enough back row has never meet his potential in 2 years, if anything his gone backwards, he needs to focus on 2nd row, and at 6’4 and over 20 stone ewers is the only an inch shorter and near 2 stone heavier.ABClub wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 6:00 pm Would Ewers add much that we don't have?

As for carrying I’ve not seen Ewers stopped before the game line like kalamafoni, and have nearly seen him pick and go just allowing the backrow to drift across to our backs.
I agree with Valentino he is raw but I see him occupying the same position as Croft out wide in the loose not as a crash merchant.

Bristol are announcing a load of transfer tomorrow
Rugby Inside Line are stating Harry Thacker's one:

Have to say the overlap does look like it's him

Dave Ewers would be a great addition to our squad. Anyone who says otherwise needs their heads checking!

If anyone has more than the usual allocation of heads, I'd agree that a trip to their GP is definitely in order!
