Evans isn’t big enough yet. Kvesic and Louw are 17 stone and 6’3” whereas Will is 6’ and 14 stone.
And yet Munsters Chris Cloete is 5'9" and 15 stone and was MOM against us. How big do you want your 7?

Our best run of form, from Quins away to Newcastle away, featured Toomua & Smith in the centres and Malouf out on the wing. With Vieanu at full back you get some errors but you get the ability to break the line and get in behind defences....Tait sadly won’t give you that, but it’s a major weapon that we’re missing. Now Manu is back, it’s going to take a while to gel and even the most impatient fan would surely admit that it will take time ? Smith offers stability and a safe pair of hands...and solid defence, whereas Manu is still wondering what he did when he was carving up defences. We want him back to his best but being out for so long, it may take a long while. Thompstone similarly is getting back to form. Add all of this up and you can perhaps see how a pass doesn’t quite reach it’s destination and a player is slightly out of position. It’s all about patience. If we’re going to sack every coach now because they have a bad run....it will only get worse. Would it be so bad if we didn’t make the top 4 ? Really ? Yeah yeah we’re Tigers we have standards etc....sometimes you have to take two steps back to move three forward.

When has BoC, Hamilton or Mike Willliams?

Cloete is 26 and Evans is 20. If we want Evans to develop to Cloete's level or better than big game experience is crucial. Evans also had a stormer vs LI where you can say it was only LI but there were first team players playing and Evans still topped tackles and turnovers whilst bagging himself a try. We need an openside, let's give him a run.

I’m all for it....just as long as folk are patient, as it could be a rocky road.

We've got a very good 7 in the form of Brendan O'Connor who should be on the team sheet for every game with Evans learning from him!
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

If and when BOC is fit. He did play in the A league the other week so hopefully he might be back soon.

Just watching the game on tv.
At 23 minutes, sir not only warns Figallo to come off the ball but when Figallo ignores him, sir runs up to the ruck and physically removes Figallo’s offending arm, therefore preventing a penalty.
Surely, this is not allowed?

Yeah but if they want the game to flow that’s what happens I’m afraid

I’m not fussed about the game flowing tbh. I’d rather know where I stand, watching the game, safe in the knowledge that the referee will have little bearing on the result and applying the laws consistently.

Well the Premiership wants better viewing so they wrongly sacrifice consistency for it, which is affecting results.

Handling skills and lineouts. That was the difference against Sarries.

It doesn't matter if your forwards carry for an average of 0 metres or 20 metres, if someone drops the ball in the next phase.
It doesn't matter if the referee gives you a penalty or not, if you lose the resulting attacking lineout.

In fact, nothing else really matters if you drop the ball as much as Tigers did on Christmas Eve. You won't win many games.

Oh, and teach Jonny May to stop waving his hand at every opposition pass that he has no chance of catching. He either has no self control or is being told to do the wrong things by his coaches.

Also thought Tom Youngs put in a strong performance, the way he lead from the front in defending our own line in the first half was commendable. But, Farrell showed how to manage a ref when he sprinted up to him and had a 5m free kick for Tigers turned into a scrum for Sarries.

Oh due to such nonsense it's flowing all right - downhill.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

I don't object to the hand being moved to allow play to continue, providing a penalty is awarded and advantage played.
