It was previously stated that he was virtually a dead cert for Bristol!

Heard that from a few places as well. Perhaps he thought the Bristol move would harm his Scotland career.

Moving to Bris'l would harm anyones's career.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Got injured and was too unfit in my opinion. Think the same of Luamanu, needs to cut on the food, get fitter and muscle up more

George Moala set to sign for Clermont for next season. He's fallen down the AB pecking order but still a powerful carrier at centre or on the wing. Would have liked us to have been in for him.

I'm not sure half a million a year plus on another back is really what we need right now. We can't try to sign every decent southern hemisphere player who wants to move to Europe.

I'm not sure he's in the half a million a year category. Won't be cheap but he's not a star payer. If we want a line breaking centre to cover for injuries it is unlikely to be cheap. He also can play on the wing which offers flexibility, like when we had Rabeni. Can go horses for courses. Clermont have a pretty good midfield but are still finding room for him.

Ruck rumouring that sarries are monitor Lewington as a possible replacement for Wyles next season. That would be a hell of a move for him, although you have to wonder how many starts he’d get competing with Williams, maitland and earles.

Apart from his try I think Lewington has been quite poor tonight.

He's not the greatest defensively but in attack he's great at making a break from nothing. Tonight LI gave him the ball too often in desperation hoping he'd come up with a miracle. At Sarries where they'll engineer him chances he should flourish, they managed to sort Ashton's iffy defence and might back themselves to do similar with Lewington.

Rugby inside line reporting Christian Scotland Williamson has left Worcester warrior with immediate effect for a career in the nfl. Shame looked a promising 2nd row.

Snippet in today's Daily Mail says Irish have signed South Africa internationals Piet van Zyl (scrum half) and Arno Botha (back row) from the Blue Bulls and that they have joined immediately. Also on BBC website.
