I haven't seen much of Schonert either. But is he really that good? Played for South Africa under 20's and SA Barbarians but no full internationals as far as I know. Now 26. If he were at Tigers with that sort of record there are some on this forum who'd be labeling him a journeyman.FrontRowUnionMember wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 11:32 pm You missed Williams off that list.
Hill would be a decent shout, started brightly at Saints, breaking the England setup, but has stalled.
Can't say I've seen as much of Schonert in truth.

Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

Schonert is often highly rated by David Flatman, probably the Premiership's 2nd best tighthead scrummager after Will Collier and was picked for the Argentinian tour but injured himself before he could participate. I would love to see him play in Tiger's coloursFrontRowUnionMember wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 11:32 pm You missed Williams off that list.

Cole is the best scrummager in England however in my opinion he is on international duty too much to be put best scrummager in the Premiershipjgriffin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 9:26 amSo Cole is third or worse?JP14 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 7:57 amSchonert is often highly rated by David Flatman, probably the Premiership's 2nd best tighthead scrummager after Will Collier and was picked for the Argentinian tour but injured himself before he could participate. Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!
That doesn't make sense to me either they are the better scrummager or not surely international duty shouldn't have any affect on it?
Maybe in terms of value but not ability.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!
Cole is the rock that the last two England coaches built the scrum around, quite often having to go most/all of the match. It seems it's only recently that other tightheads have been trusted with more than cameo appearances.
That should put Cole as the best English tighthead in the premiership, probably also makes it difficult in getting a good English tighthead in as cover because at any other club they could be the starter.
