Tigers v Worcester

Post by ourla »

Let's start the week with a little warning from a Worcester fan in reply to Saints threatening to slit their throats or those of Jim & Dorian after losing to bottom club Worcester at the weekend:
Please excuse an input from Worcester but a little context may help. This was the first home game when Worcester was able to put nearly all our top players on the pitch at any one time. Two key players, Hougaard and Mills, had been absent for a while. Results suffered - and having to play Wasps, Saracens and Exeter in the first few weeks didn't help with the injury list that there was.

Yesterday we saw a team heading back to the form of the Spring - and being bottom having lost the previous seven games was not perhaps the correct base on which to make an assessment.
Count chickens don't your.

It certainly won't be an easy game ourla. Wonder if we will have our Tongans available?

You never know we might even get Ford and Youngs back!

1 Bateman
2 Youngs
3 Cilliers (hopefully)
4 Fitzgerald
5 Barrow/Kitchener
6 Williams
7 Evans
8 Mapapalangi/O’Connor/Tuilagi
9 Simmons
10 J Ford
11 Thompstone
12 Owen
13 Smith
14 Malouf
15 Holmes/Veainu

If Mapapalangi isn’t available I would have Tuilagi or O’Connor at 8 and if he is available have Barrow and Fitzgerald together because Mapapalangi is a good line out forward and we won’t need Kitchener. I think Simmons deserved his chance, I thought that Harrison was a bit slower than usual with his passing and his box-kicking was too short.

Excellent but I still don't want to just chuck our internationals in we should want to give the likes of Pakalani and Kalamafoni a good rest and give opportunities to players playing in the AWC cup

Think that Pakalani and Kalamafoni have had a reasonable break, not played much at all.....Premiership and Champions Cup requires all the best available to continue the winning run

My only concern team wise would be the props, if Genge is with England (which he absolutely should be) and cilliers and mulipola are unavailable. Bateman aside we are going to be massively scraping the barrel. Traynor and Baumann have looked very average, id be half tempted to start Betts!

I go with a similar time to last week, think you’ve got to keep Harrison and j ford together they need game time together they’re going to be the partnership for the six nations even if George doesn’t start he’ll be in the squad, also bring back on tait adds the second distributor. And we need to find a prop or hope chilliest is fit.

Why wasn't Veaniu playing for Tonga? Surely they don't have better full backs/wingers. Unless they're trailing people.

Sorry if this has already been done.
