Tigers v Castres
Lets assume that everyone if fit from yesterday and Shazam had recovered from his HIA - this would be my 23 for this must win game:
Genge
McGuigan
Coles
Wells
Barrow
Williams
Kalamfoni
Hamilton
Youngs
Ford
May
Owen
Toomua
Malouf
Veainu
reps
Bateman
Youngs
Cilliers
Touhy
O'Connor
Harrison
Ford
Smith
Do I think I have got the 23 which will take the field - No, but that would be my preferred 23.

Re: Tigers v Castres
Trendy I mostly agree with you except I would try Williams at No, 8 to give Kalamafoni a rest and bring back Crofty at 6.
Re: Tigers v Castres
Noddy you keep on about Tom Croft but he is NOT in the Tigers European squad, as his days of top level rugby are well behind him, hence will not feature in the Castres game, BUT he may well appear at your other plug @ The Tryline Club on Saturday.

Re: Tigers v Castres
I would pick:
Genge McGuigan Cole
Wells Barrow
Kalamafoni Mapapalangi O’Connor
Youngs Ford (C)
Toomua Smith
May Veainu Pakalani
Bateman Youngs Cilliers Williams Hamilton Harrison Owen Tait
Good impact from the bench there for the last 20. Given that Pakalani got capped for Tonga this Summer, would like to see him given a run out on the wing.

Re: Tigers v Castres
Do we know if Pakalani is registered to play in Europe
Re: Tigers v Castres
Noddy will never let the facts get in the way of his love for Tom Croft
Re: Tigers v Castres
Mathew Carley has just bottled 2 penalty try’s in the first 10 minutes for Castres

The Zebo incident was awful. As to be a penalty try and a yellow card to boot.
Re: Tigers v Castres
I thought the other one was worse ball was sitting up all the Castres player had to do was catch it and he was overTomvarndell wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2017 1:19 pm The Zebo incident was awful. As to be a penalty try and a yellow card to boot.

Missed the first one. The 5 m line out was happening when I turned it on but I was aware the Murray incident was a possible pen try listening to the commentary.

Assuming Shazzam's back:
15 Telusa Veainu
14 Nick Malouf
13 Gareth Owen
12 Matt Toomua
11 Jonny May
10 George Ford
9 Ben Youngs
1 Ellis Genge
2 Tom Youngs (c)
3 Dan Cole
4 Dan Tuohy
5 Dom Barrow
6 Mike Williams
7 Brendon O’Connor
8 Sione Kalamafoni
Replacements
16 George McGuigan
17 Greg Bateman
18 Pat Cilliers
19 Harry Wells
20 Valentino Mapapalangi
21 Sam Harrison
22 Matt Smith
23 Matthew Tait
I don't think Kitch is 'on his game' yet; I think Tuohy adds something as a starter; and I prefer Wells and Mapapalangi to come on for impact rather than Hamilton. (If Hamilton was to start, BO'C would have to make way but I see him winning the battle with Mafi). With Toomua as back up 10, I'd not include Joe Ford.

Re: Tigers v Castres
5 minutes to go 17 all Castres v Munster. Castres have a very strong line out, their scrum is average.
If it stays a tie not a great result for either side though Munster fortunate as Castres rightly had 2 tries chalked off for a foot in touch.

How the Munster slap down through the ruck wasn't a penalty in the last minute ?

Castres lose at home; Munster miss their best opportunity for an away win.

Good result for us,5 points needed next week though imo. Can't see two teams getting out of this group.
