If Tombstone is fit then I'd start him on the right wing. Harsh on Malouf who I've been very impressed with but Racing away isn't somewhere we can afford to give away field position during the inevitable aerial bombardment and ping-pong. If Thompstone is fit I'd start him for his solidity.
Hamilton dropping out would be harsh but quite simply I think Evans deserves to keep his place, BOC and Mapapalangi offer more from the bench.

Re: Racing 92 vs. Tigers
I'd want Wells in there. I was impressed by Tuohy and liked him when he played for Ulster (big and aggressive). However, we aren't great at the breakdown and Wells is excellent there and his form should be rewarded.strawclearer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2017 3:56 pm I'm going for:
15 Telusa Veainu
14 Nick Malouf
13 Gareth Owen
12 Matt Toomua
11 Jonny May
10 George Ford
9 Ben Youngs
1 Ellis Genge
2 Tom Youngs (c)
3 Dan Cole
4 Dan Tuohy
5 Dom Barrow
6 Mike Williams
7 Brendon O’Connor
8 Sione Kalamafoni
Replacements
16 George McGuigan
17 Greg Bateman
18 Logovi’i Mulipola
19 Valentino Mapapalangi
20 Will Evans
21 Sam Harrison
22 Matt Smith
23 Matthew Tait
Harsh on Wells and Hamilton, of course.
I'm a big fan of Will Evans and his 24 tackles and 2 turnovers on Saturday is what we wanted to see from him but away in France might be the wrong time to bring him in. This is going to be a very physical game and we might need to think about that away from home as the French teams are different beasts when playing in France.

Hilariously off target. If I had any say, Croft would have been put out to pasture at least a year ago.Mark62 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:17 pmYou mean the same Crofty that’s not fit due to a back injury. Are you related to RolyNoddy555 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2017 3:41 pm Tigers must field their strongest available team this Saturday to hopefully send a message that they won;t be no pushovers in Europe this time around. So I expect both Youngs bros to start and Telousa Veianu back at 15. Sad news about Dominic Ryan but perhaps this is the chance to bring Crofty back into the fray.

I agree about AT if fit, his all round 15s knowledge and experience is better than Nick's and I think his defence is betterABClub wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2017 5:48 pm 1.Genge

Re: Racing 92 vs. Tigers
Touhy over Wells every time - his hardness and experience will be needed in Paris .
Re: Racing 92 vs. Tigers
Looks like O'Connor, Kala, Harrison, Ben Youngs, Veanu will all be fit for Sat given comments by our head coach.

..........no problem. With Barrow and Tuohy in the starting XV and the option of Williams if necessary, I'd say that ain't bad!

Re: Racing 92 vs. Tigers
I have been confident this past month that our team could and would win, this one has me a tad nervous, this will test how we travel as a team and perform under the spot light, awaiting the team sheet before trying to predict any outcome.

Re: Racing 92 vs. Tigers
After last seasons European travels I see this as a real good guide to judge what improvements we've made. I'm fairly confident we look a better side and also look to be getting better each week. Therefore a good hiding away from home in Europe will be a big setback. A win, meanwhile, will be a massive boost on all fronts. I for one am really looking forward to this and fingers crossed the key players who missed last weeks match will be back. Bring it on.
Re: Racing 92 vs. Tigers
Yes if Adam Thompsione is fit then he must play as I think he is a class above Malouf, I would still hope that O'Connor would play his namesake at 7 and Tom Croft at 6 with Kalamafoni at 8.

Re: Racing 92 vs. Tigers
I've always thought Croft to be a fine player, but as he's not played 1st team this season I doubt if he'll be in the squad for Racing. However, I still believe that he is worthy of consideration for future games.
