So these were the 2 signings we've been waiting on? Hardly raiding the cream of Super 15 after all then are we!!Brianf wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 12:36 pm Tigers add to their front row options. Kyle Traynor and Jake Kerr have been signed up permanently.

Supposed to be after Steve Cummins on 3 month contract, seems odd that we had to offload Ed Slater and then have to go looking for locks.RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 3:06 pm perhaps we should be looking at.

well obviously they didn't expect Fitzgerald, Barrow and Kitchener to all get injured at onceCoops wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 5:31 pmSupposed to be after Steve Cummins on 3 month contract, seems odd that we had to offload Ed Slater and then have to go looking for locks.RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 3:06 pm perhaps we should be looking at.

In fairness Barrow was only injured for one week, so it's hardly been an unprecedented injury crisis to have 2 locks out for multiple weeks.
In fact MOC is quite honest about this and has said a couple of times that the Slater deal put us a body short at lock, and that they knew when they made the deal they'd have to go to market if we had any injuries.
It does all seem like quite an inefficient way to go about things, given the quality that Slater would add.
Never believe generalisations
Re: Leicester Tigers 2017/18 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread!
An odd signing as we ain't really struggling in the wing and fullback position with may, vianu, thompstone,Brady, Holmes, malouf, tait, worth and catchpole, and the development fullback who scored the hat trick the other week in the a league. Unless a number of the injured players are more serious that we have been lead the believe.tigerburnie wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 2:13 pm Welcome Afa( he looks useful, is this Manus injury replacement?)
Re: Leicester Tigers 2017/18 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread!
The signing would tend to suggest that one or more of our wingers are expected to be out for a lengthy period.
I'm not cynical just experienced

That's what I'm thinking except 1) both Thompstone and Brady were said to be a couple of weeks away, a couple of weeks ago.
2) hasn't Afa been here on trial a while?
My money is on the clinical assessment of the risks Thompstone will have with a crocked neck has shifted...

He was quoted as saying he was looking forward to learning from Manu and To'omua so maybe he can play centre too? That would make more sensesam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 8:07 amHe also plays 15 and with Worth injured and Tait lacking pace these days that's handy cover for TV.

Coleman is a great player and a real enforcer, won't take a backward step, but does very often take a lot of steps to the sin binAngusMcCoatup wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 9:07 amYes but is he English or French ??westwinds31 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 6:58 amColeman is mustard I've heard..RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 3:06 pm perhaps we should be looking at.

Don't know if I've just missed seeing this on the forum, but seems Kitto has been loaned to Worcester according to the Rugby Paper

I also wonder whether Nick Malouf is seen as a potential centre? He's shown he has the ball-handling and guile in his 7's career and he certainly knows how to run and tackle!Duncan B wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 8:30 amHe was quoted as saying he was looking forward to learning from Manu and To'omua so maybe he can play centre too? All smacks abit of agent talk though. That article certainly hypes him up to be THE next superstar which i'm not 100% sold on yet.
BUT saying that Saracens have alot of competition for the starting back 3 spot.
Would love him here but can't see it happening.
