A wish for just one player

Post by mightymouse »

Ok

Here's my next game ... you can tell I'm bored ... looking after a sick cat for the afternoon.

We are all a bit down in the dumps about the first 2 results and as another dawn has failed to materialise .... so...

If you had a choice of just one player regardless of cost BUT must be an existing premiership player who would you choose.

After a little bit of thought but not an excessive amount, therefore I'm happy to be persuaded otherwise, I have decided upon Billy Vunipola.

We need more than almost anything else big ball carrying forwards to get our backs moving on the front foot. I think 8 is still the position that most looks unfilled adequately. Picamoles is no longer in the league therefore under my own rules I cannot pick him. That leaves Billy or Hughes as the main options and I choose Billy.

Would like to hear your thoughts and as I said happy to be prsuaded

The more pertinent point should be how soft our pack is!

I didn't realise any of these players were currently in the Premiership. :smt017

It's the unrealistic expectation that one player would be the messiah thats what has got us in this position. You need a team, 15 players on the field with a common objective, understanding what is required of them and trusting their colleagues to execute. Not one player with 14 others around.
I'm not cynical just experienced

Yet you were happy to wish for Tuilagi.... go figure.

One of Courtney Lawes or Joe Launchberry.

Nasty git, that never goes backwards and always gives 100%. Would improve line outs, and the engine room in the scrums. Would break the line and put the pack on the front foot. Would lead from the front and encourage others to do the same.

*I've avoided Itoje because he seems obvious!*

I would also consider Nick Isiekwe, young strong, keen and aggressive not to mention a superb player who is learning fast

TBH sarries will struggle to keep, Itoje, Kruis, Skeleton, Isiekwe and Day IMO.

Also have another lock coming up called Kpoku (i think).
