Re: Tigers v Bath
I'm confused.
Why are people talking about keeping it tight in the forwards? I thought people wanted to see exciting, entertaining, running rugby? That's what people have been moaning about the past few seasons.
We haven't got all these quality backs to then be keeping it tight have we?
Everyone knows running rugby and playing at 100 mph is the only way to be successful!
I'm being facetious of course!
I couldn't care less how we play. Run with the ball, kick into corners and peg them back or keep it in the forwards. I don't mind if it's exciting rugby or boring rugby. Win first, performance and style second. Always.
If I leave the ground having seen the most exciting game in history but we have lost, I'll be more disappointed than if we have seen the most boring game in history but got the win.

The simple answer is we are reluctant to see any hamstrings etc pulled ellis9!
I didn't find your post facetious, by the way, what did you think of Saracens scoring seven first half tries yesterday, slow and boring wasn't it!

Re: Tigers v Bath
So you want to keep it tight to avoid injuries?! Huh?
I didn't see the Saracens match but I presume it was fun to watch. What is your point?

Re: Tigers v Bath
So you're not bothered about exciting rugby?
Why bring the Saracens game up?
Excuse my confusion, it is Sunday morning!

I find little that is entertaining about crucifixion. I would rather watch a contest.
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game
Re: Tigers v Bath
This was more of a "Life of Brian" type of crucifixion so a little enjoyment is forgivable
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man

I'm surprised no one has quoted Stephen Jones's article in the ST today (no I don't like him either, but sometimes it pays to listen to those you don't agree with). Says we now have all the talents available, have recruited well and have to make it tell. The quotes from Cockers are interesting to the effect that the Board decided they wanted to change our style of play then when it didn't work went back to that (having lost two DoR/Head Coaches on the way). Jones adds that if RC had had Manu and Toomua available he wouldn't have been sacked. Difficult to fault most of that.

Re: Tigers v Bath
Jones was the only Times journalist not to predict Tigers in the top 4 this year! Even Barnes had us in there.

I picked up a free Times on Friday, and it had "Times writers predict their winners and losers for the new season."Soggypitch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2017 12:41 pm Jones was the only Times journalist not to predict Tigers in the top 4 this year! Even Barnes had us in there.
Owen Slot and Steve James predicting Tigers outside top 4, with Bath taking 4th place.
The rest had us in top 4, Ben Kay had us 2nd, Stu Barnes had us 3rd, as did Alex Lowe and John Westerby.
There was no sign of Stephen Jones maybe he was in Saturday or Sunday edition.
Re: Tigers v Bath
So far the hype is so far from reality! Not impressed!

Re: Tigers v Bath
Not sure they are trying hard enough looking at the score..
There is never any points for 2nd place...
Re: Tigers v Bath
I'm amazed it's taken that many high tackles to get a yellow card.
Re: Tigers v Bath
An attacking line out v 13 to snatch an amazing win...and they butcher it.
