No Croft? He might have done enough in the friendlies to get him into the 23.

Depends on whether you want cover in case of injuries or impact off the bench. Smith will tackle everything, run straight and has played across the backline for us. He won't be the one to grab us a try if we need it though, Holmes on the other hand looks like a natural finisher but won't be much help if Manu or Toomua go down (you'd presume we'd move Brady to centre).
I thought we'd see Malouf playing a mix of centre and wing this pre season with a view to him being the bench option but maybe he's taking a while to adjust. We've not seen much if Worth either which is a shame because he's a handy utility player.

Re: Tigers v Bath
Tom Croft should make the side, line out and leadership needed on the park count for a lot, we missed him last year.

Won't happen unless Williams and Hamilton are injured. More than enough leaders and experience in that side without himtigerburnie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2017 9:27 am Tom Croft should make the side, line out and leadership needed on the park count for a lot, we missed him last year.

Lot of back row options now and with our 6/lock hybrids it means our bench can contain 2 BR players if need be. Kalamafoni and BOC are nailed on if fit with one of Williams or Fitzy at 6 the other one on the bench. Then the dilemma is do we go with Ryan or Hamilton as the other spot? BOC is more likely than Kalamafoni to do the 80 so I would go Hamilton. Croft would be overkill in the squad unless Williams or Fitzy don't make the 23. Let's see Bath though first because Underhill is out and if Louw doesn't make it after his operation their backrow will be a more carrying one with Mercer and Toby in the wide channels and Garvey doing the dirty work.
