Champions Cup Fixtures
I'm sure that I'm just being thick, but there is no sign at all on the Tigers/BBC/ER web sites of the forthcoming fixtures, not even the relevant weekends.
Can anyone enlighten me?

Re: Champios Cup Fixtures
Knowing the dates is pretty easy once the Anglo/Welsh fixtures have been sorted as they have been today and we know that we have Munster,Castres , and one of the Paris clubs can't remember whether its Stadt or the other one.
We just need to know when the away fixtures are so we can start planning our trips. Does Anyone know when these will be finalised?

Re: Champions Cup Fixtures
I e-mailed them last week. They hope to announce the fixtures some time this week. They couldn't finally sort them until the PRO14 fixtures were published.

Re: Champions Cup Fixtures
What has it got to do with the PRO 14 fixtures seeing as the dates were already agreed? I guess thee may be some slight mitigation with travel time to South Africa but just looks like another, in a long line of excuses from an organisation that cannot do something in two months that football can sort in two days on a far wider scale. Abject farce.
Re: Champions Cup Fixtures
What they need to do is take charge of the competition. Announce early which w/e each group fixture is getting played and then let the other interested parties squabble over the k/o days/times. At the moment they have too much to try and agree on.
Re: Champions Cup Fixtures
But surely it is so simple. All you have to do is block off 9am Friday to noon Monday for 6 weekends ( in case your team is away on Friday or Sunday evening) and then you will be able to follow your team. As long as you keep them free for 8 weeks before kick off, or in the case of the January rounds 3 weeks you will be fine. Obviously EPC rugby knows that rugby fans do not have other lives so if a few people moan then they can put them in the not true supporters category. And anyway Rugby is just a TV sport and having away supporters in the stadium is not really necessary. European Wendy ball have more clubs, more leagues, more TV companies to coordinate but this is Rugby and it is run by amateurs so no use in comparing with EPC with a professional organisation. Besides July and August is the holiday season and EPC staffers need their eight week break just like the players.

Re: Champions Cup Fixtures
Yesterday afternoon I asked EPCR whether what they announced on their web site as "Throwback Thursday" would be followed by "Fixture Friday"? Their reply was:
"Fixtures are coming soon. EPCR can only finalise and announce fixtures for European competitions once the same has been done by the three domestic leagues. As you are aware, the changes in the Guinness PRO14 and the logistical implications of teams travelling to and from South Africa before and after European matches has delayed and complicated matters, with PRO14 only confirming their fixtures in the middle of last week. However, we are expecting to announce pool stage fixtures in the first half of next week."
Looks like:
1. They still don't have a target date for fixture announcements as we've all heard this before.
2. Speculation that the PRO12 of 14 will get preferential treatment on dates/ko times is correct.

Fixtures released Tuesday 2pm
Re: Champions Cup Fixtures
Yeah stop crying people jeez! There was always going to be a delay with the PRO14 and BT getting complete European coverage, chill Winston!
Re: Champions Cup Fixtures
No need to chill. Just think of yourself as a passionate rugby fan and therefore at the bottom of the pile wth no status in the greater Rugby universe and life will be easier.

If the match dates are favourable, I'll be going to Castres, which is less than two hours from home, and hopefully to the match at Welford Road too. The game at Racing is a possibility too if Easyjet propose a cheap fare!
