Can't believe Toulon and Saints both win important matches on the same day - and I'm pleased! :smt030

I think it's brilliant for Cockers because Toulon is, from the outside, such a dysfunctional place to manage. Do we think Ford could have achieved this turnaround ?
And , as for Saints, after such a naff season, as our nearest and dearest, congrats to them for putting some gloss on it......even if our favourite Franglais, Ze Stade Fan, is right now crying into his Cassis!!

If by any chance Toulon won the Top15, then by moving to Edinburgh he would have a shot at a historic treble, winning all the top Euro leagues.

Yes that was unexpected as Atlantique Rochelais have looked invincible all season
but I hope they will face Clermont Auvergne who face Racing today for the other place and then hopefully Clermont will beat Toulon in the final.

Well done Cockers and good luck for the final.

This season has proved that finishing top is not a good place to be in the league (at least in the Northern Hemisphere):
  • - Exeter (2nd) are English Premiership champions;
  • - Scarlets (3rd) are Pro12 champions;
  • - and either Clermont (2nd) or Toulon (3rd) will be Top 14 champions.
Looks like 2nd or 3rd are ideal places for us next season :smt003

I shall be putting on my yellow Clermont shirt which I purchased from their club shop when we played them in the quarter final in 2014 and sitting there and hoping that Nick Abendenon and David Strettle will do a job on them on Saturday so the Cockatoo can retire with his tail between his legs to Edinburgh and Pro 12 rugby and the European Challenge cup.

I pray they don't win just so we don't have to hear ellis harp on... :smt023

The whole set up of the play offs in France is pretty harsh..the home team always runs the risk of being under cooked with 2 weeks off

I promise I won't harp on about Cockerill as much as other people have about Burns.

That means I will harp on a lot because it will still be nowhere near as much as people harping on about the Burns situation!

Noddy, Cocker will not be retiring with tail between legs whatever the result in Paris. For Toulon to get to the final, even to be in the play offs from where they were when he took over is a remarkable achievement. Edinburgh will no doubt improve under Cockers coaching and in a year or two I will be hoping that we will be meeting his team in the Champions Cup and can welcome him back to Welford Road. Of course I will be hoping he loses when that happens.

Don't get the unpleasantness from some people on this forum.

We had it just before the news about Mrs TY broke, despite all the hints on the forum, with some saying they weren't bothered about anything outside of the game only his form on the pitch mattered.

Now we get the wish that one of our former loyal servants has to retire with his tail between his legs.

Maybe its just me that finds this stuff tiresome but judging by the limited numbers of active posters these days possibly not.
