Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
So far MoC hashad Harry Thacker as the replacement back row in every game. I think we can say that he will be considered a back row option.

Gossip from the Chiefs players do recently that Geoff Parling is going to Japan, so unlikely to appear at Welford Road.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Kalamafoni, Ford and Holmes are all playing for clubs who still have games to play.
1.Genge, Mulipola, Rizzo
2.Youngs, McGuigan
3.Cole, Cilliers, Bateman, Betts?
4.Barrow, Slater
5.Kitchener, Fitzgerald, Wells
6.Williams, McCaffery, Croft
7.O'Connor, Evans, Thacker
8.Hamilton, Kalamafoni, Mapapalangi?
9.Youngs, Harrison, Kitto
10.G Ford, J Ford
11.JPP, Brady, Catchpole
12.Toomua, Smith
13.Tuilagi, Tait, C Thacker?
14.Thompstone, Betham, Holmes
15.Veainu, Worth?
That's as things stand from what's being rumoured. Adding a replacement for to that is most important in my opinion. Especially if Toomua is covering GF. Then another hooker is a must if Harry is moving to 7 full time.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
I still feel prop is very light on numbers too, with Ayerza, Balmain and Brugnara all leaving.
Not unrealistic to think Cole, Genge, Rizzo and Mulipola could all be called up during autumn internationals, leaving us just 3 props.
Will Thacker stay at back row, or hooker? If it's back due, another hooker is a must.
With George Ford a shoe in for international weeks, plus potentially Tuilagi once fully proven fit, that leaves us very thin at 10,12 and 13. Definitely room for another player in that midfield.

Geoff Parling - a short-term deal with a Japanese Top League side; a year with a Super Rugby franchise in Australia; line-out / asst.forwards coach with a Premiership club?
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Would be surprised if we sign another prop.
Brugnara being a development player currently (Looking at the squads) will just be replaced by someone like Hills most likely and Grahamslaw has signed a new deal with Tigers (The England coach who told Genge to move to prop advised Grahamslaw the same thing) and can see Betts being Balmain replacement judging on what Glynn said in a recent news piece with Heyes going into the development squad.
Saracens have next season currently
LHP: Vunipola, Barrington, Lamositele
THP: Figallo, Koch,
With Thompson-Stringer being promoted.
Exeter have going into next season currently
LHP: Hepburn, Moon, Rimmer
THP: Francis, Holmes, Low
Wasps have going into next season currently
LHP: Mullan, McIntyre, Lundberg,
THP: Moore, JCW, Harris
Bath
LHP: Auterac, Catt, Obano
THP: Thomas, Lahiff, KPN, Knight
Our prop group of
LHP: Genge, Mulipola, Rizzo (Hills, Grahamslaw)
THP: Cole, Bateman, Cilliers (Betts, Heyes)
Should be fine IMO.
I mean we manged so far this season whilst missing Logo and Ayerza for the majority of the season and Rizzo and Cilliers at times. I like Genge but reckon Eddie will keep using Marler and Vunipola come the AI's.

I've read comments about the club looking to sign another centre but no names mentioned unfortunately.

Don't Exeter also gave Harry Williams the tighthead prop who is touring with England in the summer?RagingBull wrote:Would be surprised if we sign another prop.

I think we may look to recruit a good prospect prop of there is one available. Similar to us picking up Betts the other year. Someone who is squad cover now but possibly some thing more in a couple of years. Unfortunately Brugnara hasn't kicked on.
Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Yes another star centre is a must as I can't see either Manu or Toomua being ready for the new campaign. Now that we have resolved the deputy fly half position with the acquirement of George Ford's younger brother Joe one or two extra centres (quality) are needed. We are well covered on the back three positions.
Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Noddy - Joe Ford is older than George! Joe born 4/6/1990 and George 16/3/1993.Noddy555 wrote: Now that we have resolved the deputy fly half position with the acquirement of George Ford's younger brother Joe
and I thought you were a fountain of knowledge not a shallow ford!

I would certainly love to see Napolioni Nalaga join our ranks, although the highlights I have seen are of him in offence I don't know what his defence is likeRagingBull wrote:Part 3 - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=44312
