Ruan Pienaar

Post by big john »

As we are looking for a back-up 10 that can kick and he is leaving Ulster maybe worth a look?

Yes he is 33 now but with that in mind he may not command the size wage he once did but he gives us a 9/10/11/14/15 that can place kick and can offer the team so much on and off the pitch.

I know we have Ford and Kalamafoni coming in but with the lose of Burns, Williams, Balmain and Ayerza and I am unsure if Croft and Smith have much left in the tank unfortunately these days and may hang up the boots we do have some funds to play with and I think Pienaar could give us just what we need for a season or two and give us the time to develop someone or the time to find a real gem in the rough and he also gives us another good sound calm head in the big games.

What do you guys think?

At 33, we would need him to have an extensive medical to ensure he was on the cusp of a 12 month lay off before we signed him :smt044

Pienaar was never really a 10 was he.

For the money he wants i don't see it being worth it. Especially since 9 is well covered.
