Re: AWC final
Right - that's the Cup won so now we need to do the domestic double by winning the League too! #totallycarriedaway
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

I am not disappointed. I may have broken out in a smirk.
Re: AWC final
Well done Tigers, well done Murphy and coaches and well done Richard Cockerill- these are after all the players you brought to the club

Re: AWC final
Good performances all round. Nice t get some silverware.
Thacker with 33 tackles was everywhere. Our lineout defence looks a lot better with Kitch disrupting the opposition.

Re: AWC final
It's a bit like the Burns situation. He is leaving the club- move on!
Anyway well done Tigers!
Anyway well done Tigers!
Re: AWC final
Burns has done himself great credit, 100 % commitment when he could have just gone through the motions.
Re: AWC final
More than his replacement showed when he was leaving, against Stains at Twickers. What's done is done - sadly.drc_007 wrote:Burns has done himself great credit, 100 % commitment when he could have just gone through the motions.
Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.
Re: AWC final
I would've preferred half a dozen more youngsters involved.
McCaffery MoM IMO, best 7 at Leicester.
To be brutally honest I don't think selection has been in the true spirit of this competition and IMO firmer rules and limits on age etc are needed if any integrity is to be preserved.
I think the attendance showed just how much integrity has been lost!

But apart from the average age; the MotM; the spirit of selection; the lax rules; the integrity of the competition and the attendance...did you enjoy it?!?!BFG wrote:I would've preferred half a dozen more youngsters involved.

Re: AWC final
Team selections have always been mixed in the LV. The two teams in the final were evenly matched with a selection of young players mixed with some squad options and a sprinkling of first choice players.BFG wrote:I would've preferred half a dozen more youngsters involved.

The attendance was because of there being a week in which to organise the trip to London on a Sunday for a game that was always going to be televised.

Not sure to be totally honest!strawclearer wrote:But apart from the average age; the MotM; the spirit of selection; the lax rules; the integrity of the competition and the attendance...did you enjoy it?!?!BFG wrote:I would've preferred half a dozen more youngsters involved.

I think this competition has become little more than a PR exercise into Cockers boots of which I'm afraid they have proved just not big enough to fill those boots as yet.
Had they been a bit bolder and gone and won it or lost it with bottle then fair play!

Re: AWC final
Does winning this give Tigers an automatic entry into the European Cup, 'cos they might not finish inn the top 6?

No, there is no European qualification with this trophy.Robespierre wrote:Does winning this give Tigers an automatic entry into the European Cup, 'cos they might not finish inn the top 6?

Re: AWC final
Sadly, whilst Mr Cockerill was a Tigers legend he proved incapable of getting the best out of this squad. Geordie deserves the credit for this win. Well done to all the team, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.ellis9 wrote:Well done Tigers, well done Murphy and coaches and well done Richard Cockerill- these are after all the players you brought to the club
