Yes it's puzzling that his international form is not portrayed at club level, this is also the case with his brother Tom. Currently I favour Sam Harrison & Harry Thacker in their respective positions, have they been associated with the group of
players loyal to former DOR Richard Cpckerill and were they worrying about his job? If so then they should have been worrying about their own positions in the team.

Perhaps we should think why he performs outstandingly for England?

Players who aggressively clear the breakdown putting defenders on the back foot.
Wingers who relentlessly chase down box kicks.
Forwards who know where to stand to block potential charge downs without needing to be asked several times a game.
A constant supply of ball carriers ready to take the ball moving forward rather than standing still.
The above results in defenders on the back foot wondering which player to tackle leaving gaps for Ben to exploit.

Lets see how he performs for Mauger! Perhaps his pass on Sunday which turned out to be the final straw that finished off Richard Cockerill will have been worth it!!

Owen Williams leaving, is that why he did not put his neck on the block to rescue his team mate when he threw out that bad pass :smt017 Perhaps not but Ben was not having his best game, pack was going forward and many have said he only plays well when they are going forward. Weather did not help, to be fair to both!
