Kieran Brooke's red card

Post by fleabane »

The new instructions were issued today that clearing out, using the shoulder to the head and without arms wrapping is a straight red, and Brookes got what he deserved in the Falcons match.

Guess who reacted to the decision, (and not the offence)? Voldemort. Again.

What is up with Northamptons attitude towards causing potentially disabling injury?

Yes, was instructive to watch Voldemort seething on the sidelines . Does make you think when will they learn?
Falcons good value for half time law and Niki G in great form

Why a red card? Such thuggery should be perfectly legal and is what any normal rugby player does.

Will reserve judgement until I've seen the incident, but a lot of talk about it on Twitter.

Great result for Falcons. Voldemort exasperated. Roll on next week!

Only their third win at Northampton for a century.

But Saints serious disciplinary attitude should be of central concern. Sooner or later someone will get seriously hurt.

The thing about the red card, was that it was pointless. The Falcons player was going nowhere.
Yet another stupid act of indiscipline by a Saints player. Do they think that it wont be seen?

Seen it now and agree with the red.

Mallinder and his side kick on very thin ice - suspect Westie will be walking any day now.

A side issue was seeing Deano smile - happening a little more often these days. He is building a team with real spirit!

In no way is Brookes a thug. Cockerill let him go because he wasn't aggressive enough. Keiron is a decent fella who so far has not displayed thuggery at all. Its his first red card and notwithstanding the latest directives would not have been red carded for that clear out. Fashionistas are not needed in this game.
