Dan Carter

Post by Iain »

As a rugby fan I REALLY hope he's fit enough to play on Sunday.

This may be the only opportunity we get to see him, as one of the greatest players of all time, playing at Welford Road. Sure, it might make a win harder for us if he plays and fires on all cylinders but as rugby fans, surely we all want to see him play?

Be very careful what you wish for. Remember what they did to Saints at Franklins Gardens year before last, and that was when Mallinder's team selections weren't as bad as Cockers

If we lose to a side led by Carter at his majestic best I'll see it as a fair cop and feel fortunate to have witnessed one of the greats of the game with my own eyes to be honest.

Worth adding too - I always want Tigers to win, but it's all the more delicious against teams with all their best players playing.

How would your selections differ from Cockers' and why would they be better? Show your working.

Also provided it isn't at the expense of a win then absolutely - but having seen him at City ground was probably enough.

Harry Thacker vs McGuigan

Tait vs Betham

Ever selecting Tait at 15 when Veianu is available, would always rather Brady on wing than Tait at 15

Ever playing Luke Hamilton when you could have Fitzgerald at 6 - neither are ideal at 6, but best of a bad bunch

Ever selecting Harrison ahead of Youngs, except when we are playing Newcastle or Bristol or Worcester and Youngs can have a rest

Ever selecting Owen Williams ahead of Burns, Owen Williams contributes in attack as much as Andy Goode did for Newcastle last year

Do you want me to keep going?

I don't think McGuigan ahead of Thacker and Betham ahead of Tait need any explanation........

FIVE posts, Iain? Since some are on my foes list, I become acutely aware it is often every other post.

On the OP, I hope so too. I loved the couple of times I saw late-in-career Wilko, and, like everyone, cherish the memories of that legend of the game 'Ronnie' Regan :smt005

He has been missing off the last three Racing teamsheets, so maybe The Club is getting him fit and ready for the Big game on Sunday!
