Assume the Brady omission is just an error - he is not listed on the Sale playing list for 16/17. Curiously though there is no mention of Tigers on his twitter account since Feb/March when we announced his signing despite being a regular poster. Still states he is a Sale player although last tweet was 1st July!! Judging by Twitter his taste in TV is appalling!

Epic achievement compiling this - thanks: as at 18:30 on Mon there is one error - you have Genge both coming from and going to Bristol.

If we had Manu, JPP, Veainu and possibly Toomua if Cheika tweaks the rules, away during the AIs then we look very very light.
Surely needs to be another decent utility 11/13/15 sort of player signed?

Suppose it depends on when the LV cup games are on as it could mean we get JPP or Veainu for a couple of AP games during then.darganj wrote:If we had Manu, JPP, Veainu and possibly Toomua if Cheika tweaks the rules, away during the AIs then we look very very light.

A backline in the AP for 2/3 weeks of
9) Harrison
10) Burns
11) Brady
12) Smith
13) Betham
14) Thompstone
15) Tait
21) Kitto
22) Williams
23) Catchpole
and a LV cup team of
9) Kitto
10) Bryant
11) Yawayawa
12) Roberts
13) Catchpole
14) Olowofela
15) Worth
21) Simmons/White
22) Thacker
23) Olowofela
Very inexperienced that but it is only the LV cup.
Although i do feel that we need a back 3 player now and we are completely finished recruitment wise TNW would of been a interesting signing but think he is aiming to go back to Super rugby next season.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Oddly TV seems to be out of favour with Tonga, he didn't play in the summer internationals (Fonua did). The Boks are now threatening to only select home based players, the government have already as said as much and SARFU will probably follow their suggestions sooner rather than later which means JPP might be missing during the 4Ns but then probably not selected again.
Chieka would have to do considerable tweaking to get Toomua in, isn't it 60 caps you need? He has 30 something. The overseas option was mainly for the RWC I wouldn't expect to see the Wallabies lean on it too much going forward.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
AP team is fine as long as there are no injuries to Brady, Thompstone or Tait, but 25% of the squad injured is the normal premise for planning a squad to cope for the season.RagingBull wrote:Suppose it depends on when the LV cup games are on as it could mean we get JPP or Veainu for a couple of AP games during then.darganj wrote:If we had Manu, JPP, Veainu and possibly Toomua if Cheika tweaks the rules, away during the AIs then we look very very light.

And that's why I'm worried about 11-15 depth. First choice backline is absolutely superb but a Lewington/Matt Banahan sort of player would really help to plug a gap and cover us.
Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Apparently we have signed Munster and Ireland U20's prop Ben Betts after being released by Munster for being "too small",

There is also a player analysis for him here

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Munster fans seem to be really disappointing at the prospect of loosing him, we might have our future front row resources stocked well with Betts, Genge, Hills, Mcguigan and Thacker
Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
We better sign another small prop so we can have a front row that no other side can get down low enough to scrummage against us, alternatively if the opposition can get down and end up doing a bit of "tossing" maybe they will all end up being disciplined!

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Small, yet still 6ft! Maybe a little light, but still a youngster. Probably reasonable to bring in a young TH prop now that LH is reasonably well covered.
Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Just said that to Mrs G, we need a small LH to do a Tom Smith number on the big front rows. Sciatica guaranteed.
