Matt Toomua
Great result for England-------bonus that our new signing looks the part as well !!! his defence seemed reasonable and with Burns Betham and Veainu, possibly Manu, reat things will be expected in attack .

Re: Matt Toomau
I have to agree on Toomau, as he plays with his head up, looking for opportunities.
If he fits in, which I am sure he will, we should have a really good back line!
I hope though, that Freddie doesn't get hurt in the Glastonbury mud!

We genuinely now have a backline that most teams in Europe would envy and pay big money to have. We should feel excited.

Re: Matt Toomau
This really is, on paper at least, the most exciting set of backs we have lined up for next year, just need our pack to re discover their collective mojo and we will be in the mix to win things next season.

Watched Toomua (on TV unfortunately!) a number of times before his injury and think the prospect of facing two receivers in Burns and Toomua will concern a number of sides next season!
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

There can be little doubt that the Wallaby back line was energised by MT's play on Saturday, he created several scoring chances for his backs. He opened up the English defence with ease at times.
Should do well in the more open game Mauger advocates. If of course, the Rugby Championship doesn't injure him....

Re: Matt Toomau
Is that correct Roly - is he really playing the whole of the Rugby Championship before joining us? I was really hoping he would be here for the start of pre-season not tired out and potentially injured after taking on the All Blacks, Boks etc for a few weeks!!!Roly wrote:There can be little doubt that the Wallaby back line was energised by MT's play on Saturday, he created several scoring chances for his backs. When Roly's this positive you know we've made a top signingRoly wrote:There can be little doubt that the Wallaby back line was energised by MT's play on Saturday, he created several scoring chances for his backs. He opened up the English defence with ease at times.

Re: Matt Toomau
So, is there any confirmation as to when MT and JPP will actually turn up at Tigers?
Re: Matt Toomau
I think so Soggy, the commentary team implied that Toomua would be playing a significant part in the Championship.Soggypitch wrote:Is that correct Roly - is he really playing the whole of the Rugby Championship before joining us? Re: Matt Toomau
The news report on this site (15th November) announcing his signing states clearly that he will arrive "in the summer of 2016". I know its been a bit wet recently but has summer been delayed again this year?
