Yes Iain I too like Ye Olde trip to Jerusalem and on my first visit in 1972 and watched an American tourist spill his pint of beer all over himself as he looked up at the hole in the ceiling, extremely funny. The landlord at the time said that was almost a daily occurrence and most of the victims were yanks.

Try The Embankment. Good Ale and beautifully restored former Boots Social Club. Walk across the river from Forest and its a black and white timbered building on your left, approx. 200 yards after the river.
Maybe 10 mins stroll from the turnstiles.

If you are after authentic ales, you will want to walk past the Riverbank pub which is just before The Embankment. More of a family eatery type place

Please go to Notts Rugby, next door to Forests ground, where there will be a fan zone and bar.
The beer there is always good.
And Notts Rugby always appreciate the support.
The atmosphere at their home games is good and V friendly.

I called in there a couple of weeks ago. It's a dive.
