Great day at WR. We would have died for this in the last few seasons, and I hope it shuts the Whingers up - can't wait for Roly or darganj to tell us how awful that was.
Stade were poor, but much of that was created by the line-speed and abrasive defensive commitment, so that there were constant challenges to Stade and they could not settle.
Fred was good and our backs in general were excellent. Not sure that the front row functioned in the scrum until replaced - the Harry Conundrum.
Knew we'd won when we immediately replied to Dupuy's cheeky try, you could see heads go down. Impressed with Bateman's work-rate and hands when he came on.
We are STILL nowhere near the finished article, but the 80 minute effort today was the most consistent of the season.
MOTM for me today were Fitz, BOC and Lochy who gave us a platform, but more generally the whole team.
Also, what a nice bunch the SF fans were, loved the drums especially when they kept doing the Tigers beat, and respectful of our tradition of silence for the kickers.

Well put JG, the result was important, but the manner in how it was done was just as important, gonna worry a few the other side of Mkt Harboro' for sure.

The BBC is saying sunny intervals, 11-12°C with a ESE wind of around 15mph/24kph (i.e. wind blowing from right to left as you come out of the players' tunnel).
Thanks BJ, I'll hang to my pink hat ! :smt023

Notwithstanding the match itself we hope you had a good time in our less than beautiful city (unlike your own) & have a good trip home. You are welcome at Welford Road anytime.

The ones that I was aware of were from the Sikh(?) drummers at the back of the members, massive celebration at the end too. No doubt, some would moan, but I'd like to have them every week!
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I like the idea of the drummers. Seems A good fit and rugby could do with showing more diversity.
Owens and Clancy did us no favours

Fantastic day out today. Great game from a tigers point of view, great away fans and now to look forward to saints and home country semi final.

Only down side was the elderly gentleman who had to be escorted of the terrace after pulling out a pocket knife and tring to cut the stade fans drum skins. Very odd.

An absolute necessity - they got everybody involved - well done to whoever booked them!

Loved the Punjabi drummers and the French fans. Great atmosphere. Amazing defence from Tigers as well as some tries at our end.

It starts off with the increasingly vitriolic complaints about any games not starting at 15:00 on Saturday and before you know it, you're Michael Douglas in "Falling Down"
What's the OAP version of Glen Parva?

What an amazing game to be at and definitely not a result I think any of us could have foreseen.

Very incisive when we get quick ball and the players play what's in front of them. The defence was better than against Gloucester (would have to do very well for it to be worse) and the physicality and line speed in defence was immense. Still, some work to do to keep things rolling ahead of next week.

Someone mentioned recruitment in an earlier post - I don't think a single one of the signings they've made hasn't improved the squad. Several have also proved the doubters wrong in spades.

Bring on the Saints and let's hope we send their fans marching home early again!

Largely agree on recruitment but the jury is still out on Fonua and Kitto. After today's cameo, I'm warming to Bateman who looked excellent for the first time at WR.
