typing malfunctions

Post by trendylfj »

I just love this one on EPC site after this week's games.

Racing 92 now lead the Top 14 by a point from ASM Clermont Auvergne after 17 matches and have a two pint advantage, with a game in hand, on their European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-final rivals RC Toulon.

Who said the French couldn't drink??????

Any more????
Hehehehehehehehe

Yes. Your title of typing malfunctions should be Typing malfunctions.

If you were to include spoken malfunctions as well, then Brian Moore during the Scotland-France game yesterday had a good 'un. Question - "What's the French for Handbags?". Answer - "Main sac". (Say it to yourself in French, that helps!):smt003

I would have thought there were more than enough on this forum to keep you busy for a fair while.

He wasn't that far out. The term for handbag is 'sac à main.'

Agree with Donny, I'm Fluent in French and the correct term for handbags
in the plural is sacs a main, and without the second s in the singular.
Perhaps when commenting on things French posters should be made to write it in French?

For LE18 I'm probably more fluent in French than most of Tigers supporters as not only have I been speaking the Language since I was 10 which is almost 60 years ago but I have qualifications in the French Language & Literature and still correspond with a pen friend in Limoges since both I and she were 13 years old. Plus the fact that in the late 60's I worked for 10 months in Paris. Missing out an accent on a machine
that doesn't cater for either acute or grave accents is meaningless.

Noddy, all the above were completed on my 'machine' by holding down the 'a' key (in this instance) until accents were available to select.

Hope that works.

I love, love, love the way this thread totally misses the humour in Moore's comment, a 'double entendre' if ever I heard one...

hint: if you have a main sac, look inside and consider if that's what you've been talking.
