Tales? Oh yes! As a youngster with my Dad in the old Members' Stand, most stories were whispered conspiratorially to me at half-time by large men consuming cigars and sloe gin whilst stamping their feet against the cold. As the game went on and hip flasks emptied, so the tales became ever more implausible! Plus ça change...!

It would appear that it isn't an ad for Caterpillar or for Landrover - rather a promotional for the Club. Excellent!

(and they've corrected the letter for Manu!)

Well... I stand corrected. My cynicism apparently knows no bounds! I too thought this would be another sponsor announcement, most likely being Jaguar or Land Rover (as said a few times) but I'm pleasantly surprised that it appears to just be a genuine club promotional video.

I can't say I truly understand the video itself though - perhaps it's a Sunday morning thing...

Well done Tigers a great advert for our club :smt038

I was also wrong about the Landrover sponsor hypothosis :smt009

Wonder who the new sponsor will be and if the new stand will remain the Caterpillar Stand post season end :smt017

Epic, epic fail after all of the build up.
The video stopped shortly after it started, then, by the time it got back up and running, it clashed with the players running out and was abbreviated by "Smoke on the Water"
Not the fanfare moment that the club would have hoped for...

It is available online and appears to be along fairly similar lines to one that was done for Nottinghamshire's T20 games in the last couple of years.

While on the subject of marketing - there was a van on Tigers Way advertising the Wasps v Tigers game at the Ricoh

Certainly wasn't a roar today, simply plenty of murmuring and the echo of feet leaving before time in the MetRx

I know it defeats the idea a bit, but the volume every time they played the ad was more than a roar, it was absolutely deafening! Ear drums more than a bit uncomfortable! I nearly texted the club on the number they give us for customer feedback, but I don't think it was in the programme...

So with all this Hi-tech super duper underground capability how come they couldn't beat Sale, or Falcons or Quins :smt017

I kinda took comfort from the botched delivery yesterday - its nice to be appreciated and all that, but I like the marketing to be low key and very obvious. If it gets too slick it just wont feel right....

If it had gone on any longer it would have become #HearTheBore. I've got so fed up with it, I'm not going to bother watching the video.

Could the underground works be the true reason for the delays to the CAT stand. They said it was a foundations problem! :smt017
