Tigers pitch is a disgrace
Lots of money, time and effort has gone into filling seats..
Zero time and effort from the Management over having a pitch that is playable, excess rain or not
Bad drainage, and very very bad grass management
BOARD-get a blasted expert in pronto

Re: Tigers pitch is a disgrace
We will just have to grin and bear it as we will have a new deso pitch for next season I am more worried about our performance or should I say lack of it than the state of the pitch
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

Re: Tigers pitch is a disgrace
lots of prem pitches have struggled this year.
Re: Tigers pitch is a disgrace
As an ex county cricket 2's groundsman I have to say that I don't feel that the pitch is a disgrace. We have all seen much worse international and premiership pitches and I really do feel that this is an unfair thread. Yes last year we had problems but they have done a lot to sort them out and have succeeded to a large degree.

My view is that we cut the grass far too short, and it looks shorter than the grass at the KP. I know the wear is different, but they treat it like it's their twelfth man.No one is allowed on that pitch, other than to play a match. We even allow the corporate people to wander across at will- what happened to the H&S rules incidentally on that, where real fans are not allowed to cross the players walkway, until every player is off the pitch, but these people are?
Re: Tigers pitch is a disgrace
I jokingly said at half time yesterday, there were more people on the pitch than in the stand!

Be fair. It's been exceptionally wet and mild with no real time to let the soil drain properly. If you played rugby on my back lawn today it'd soon all be mud soup!

We only have to look at Murrayfield yesterday to see the benefits of the new Hybrid pitch that Tigers will have next season.
Murrayfield has been transformed by the investment from an unplayable bog to a superb surface.

What do you want them to do? The weather has been dreadful. All the traditional pitches are going to be bit of a mess with that rainfall. Its just the way it is this time of year.
And I thought the new hybrid pitch was common knowledge by now?

Moan, moan, moan. Do you think that the head groundsman and his team don’t care? A pitch is a living organism that is subject of many uncontrollable influences. There is no precise science here but there is a lot of effort goes it to what is controllable. Don’t bother reading the link if you’d like to remain being ill informed.

The pitch, the coaches, the management, the players, the weather, the new stand, catering. Can't think of anything else left for some of you to moan about. May well be proved wrong though.
Hambo :- He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”
