Re: Looking ahead to Bath
Ford must be worrying a bit about BOC and our back row getting to him, he will be up against the best No7 in an AP match for some time. Bring on the game, with our new signings things must look a lot different to last year.

Re: Looking ahead to Bath
Leinster & Ireland had BOD..We now have the mighty BOC!!
Meanings include Body of Christ or Bag of Cr*p pending on how he plays

I must say, this is the battle I'm most looking forward to. Ford is undoubtedly excellent on the front foot. In O'Connor, we have a 7 who appears to like nothing more than being an absolute menace at the breakdown and stopping good ball going to his opponents. If O'Connor plays as well as he has been doing, Ford will have a very difficult afternoon.LE18 wrote:Ford must be worrying a bit about BOC and our back row getting to him, he will be up against the best No7 in an AP match for some time. Re: Looking ahead to Bath
Veainu was signed as a winger, so why not play him on the wing where he scored 4 tries in the WC. Yes, Goneva and Thompson have started the season in decent form, but Goneva is suspect defensivel/under the high ball, so I'd be tempted to play Veainu and Thompson on the wings.
I think Veainu may get exposed at FB at some point when Leicester are put under pressure. To date he hasn't really been tested in either the Exeter or Treviso games. And winter is nearly upon us!

Re: Looking ahead to Bath
I am beginning to love this season already when we have so many choices to make and not pick a side based on who is fit.
I really feel we have an excellent chance of winning silverware this year.

Yes but it's the opinion of a man who for many years was convinced that Yorkshire were the finest cricket team on the planet when they quite obviously weren't!Bill W (2) wrote:Yes, yes, yes!!trendylfj wrote:

Re: Looking ahead to Bath
In a great contrast to the past few seasons we have a great squad to pick from - as they aren't all injured. I think Mauger must still be assessing the players and what combinations work in different circumstances. We are still a work in progress but I'm so optimistic, as we all seem to be. We do need to keep in mind that so many new players and a new phillosophy of playing will take a while to really bed in.
However, with that cautionary warning I am looking forward each game and this one is no exception. We all bear the scars inflicted by Barf last season but we did put up a show at WR. Of the two teams we are the 'form' one and they have to come here and produce their best this season whilst we have the momentum. Lets not get carried away but we are not the predictable team of the past few years and Barf have the problem of figuring out a new Tigers set-up that has looked pretty good so far, Exeter excepted.
I don't think Barf will beat us, the result is all down to how/who we play.

Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.

Pretty strong team, only worry is how Bell performs with the Bath backrow pressuring him
