What you have to remember he is the current first choice inside centre and South African Captain
He would be playing this weekend if it weren't for broken jaw
So in reality it's a top class signing at the very peak if the game and should help our players transition to the new system
And at the moment we don't actually have a first choice centre were playing centres on the wings, wings in the centres and fullbacks at fly half

What is the problem? This guy is STILL world class and if I'm not mistaken, better than what we already have, lighten up people, welcome JDV(if he comes)with open arms, look around the papers and internet, people are talking about the Tigers and no one, not one article says its a bad fit !!Knightonian wrote:What you have to remember he is the current first choice inside centre and South African Captain

I notice that he neither confirmed nor denied it, but ended by saying "until the ink is dry on the contract, nothing is certain." He also seemed to be having to think about how he phrased his answer. This would suggest that they are in talks, but still a way from being sorted, yet.

My post made no such insinuation. Please what is the source of your 16 starts?4071 wrote:Thorn isn't exactly an example of a player who didn't repay our investment.sapajo wrote:I worry just how many games JDV will complete over his tenure? I note from Wackipedia that in a Tigers shirt Brad Thorn's was 12. You can sign great players but that matters didly squat if they do not stay fit, something Tigers have learned to their cost.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

JDV is not only better than anyone else available to Tigers but what would England have given to have him in the WC!
Re: 2015/16 Squad/Contracts/Rumours Thread Part 1
I hope you are not suggesting that JDV is a better centre than Brad Barritt and/or Sam Burgess?Hinckley Bob wrote:JDV is not only better than anyone else available to Tigers but what would England have given to have him in the WC!
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
Re: 2015/16 Squad/Contracts/Rumours Thread Part 1
There are 10 better centres in England better than Burgess or Barritt !!

Are they in hiding - why could our wonderful England coach not identify them?fortysix wrote:There are 10 better centres in England better than Burgess or Barritt !!
