Nope!! 2015 worse! And Johnno fell on his sword. Will SLancaster?Sajerj wrote:fentiger wrote:Cueto none too happy either: http://www.espn.co.uk/rugby/story/_/id/ ... up-failure
Its dissapointing re-write of history from an ex player isnt it ?
For a start, Martin was in charge for 3 years leading into the RWC, not 18 months as Cueto makes out. Secondly Martin resigned and openly acknowledged that he was not committed to another 4 years (he may have been sacked, we will never know). Finally in 2011 they didnt have a Wales or Australia in their group. Truth is that both 2011 and 2015 have been broadly as bad as each other.

I hope you are right and that others do too.Sajerj wrote:I think he will, Bill.
I fear you are wrong and we will go down the RAndrew myth of "we are building a squad for 2019". Should anyone bother to calculate that will take RAndrew to his pension!

Reading this again. BV says that NONE of them knew ? (If the quotes are true).
Seriously, come on. It was widly discussed in every paper and media outlet prior to the game that a bonus point could be vital. In the immediate post match interviews both Robshaw and Lancaster discussed it extensively and how delighted they were to get it.

Is this "widely" or "wildly"?Sajerj wrote: It was widly discussed in every paper and media outlet prior to the game
I recall Larry once claiming he did not know who was acting Captain!
These stories often gain much in the telling!

According to the Guardian.
The contracts to 2020 are understood to include annual break clauses related to performance targets, which would limit the amount of compensation the RFU would have to pay to release staff.

Elements of the Billy Vunipola story appear in some of the papers this morning. Doesn't mean they are true, but the media vultures are circling.

All getting a bit odd. BV denies making the comments but Bracken says they were taken out of context!

I suspect that BV has been advised that if he wants to play international rugby, he should start to wriggle out of this!

Sorry to bring blobby into this but barnes, amongst his other ramblings, has this to say:
http://www.skysports.com/rugby-union/ne ... lands-exit
Number 9:
9. There has been lots of twittering, so I am told, about Billy Vunipola and his criticisms of the England management. Friends who were at one of these functions confirmed he indeed did criticise the management on various fronts, though the Saracens No 8 has denied the allegations.

Had to laugh at Brackens comments about Jason Robinson. 'He was given a long time to adjust to the game before being called up'
Yeah...just over 12 weeks it was Kyran.

Indeed Fen.
I am sure we can all recall SCW picking Barrie John Mather for a debut in a Grand Slam decider against Wales. His one and only cap. Outside him was Steve Hanley i think, also making his debut and his one and only cap.
