£200,000 per year isn't an awful lot when you are in a job where one injury can end it. If you're lucky enough to earn that much for a decade you're doing well.

£200,000 isn't a lot of money?! :smt017

Other players have survived from retiring with injury. Other players have retired early and they haven't suddenly become homeless or jobless

I heard he could be looking at a season in Super 15s before coming back to Tigers but this story is a new one.

Apart from seeing his face on the big screen sat in The Crumbie, or reading about him on the wrong pages in The Mercury, would we actually notice if he was here or not...?

With J. Davies injury, Clermont could make him a big offer to be medical joker... and next year replace Rougerie... if i would be Clermont manager i would do that... would like to see him playing for Clermont...

We dont need Manu, we have an able alternative in Matt Smith, a true clubman.

Proper reporting, what you do not know you will try to find out. If you cannot find out you make up.

Matt Smith won young player of the year in 2009, and a common feature in the match day squad that won the premiership and came second in the Heineken Cup that year. Wasn't Aaron Mauger captain and main coaching influence then? Next season could be a good one for Smith!

On the subject of his driving ban, he was clocked doing 81 on the A1. Generally a 70 mph road.
Without wanting to sound flippant about speeding offences, it's rare to find a stretch of dual carriageway or motorway without someone doing 80ish. Not so unusual.

For comparison, Johnno was done for 100+ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-24446141, Mike Tindall was speeding while drunk! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-24446141.

Still, give a dog a bad name....
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

Without knowing the full facts, 81 in a 70 is a harsh prosecution IMO. Potentially 1mph over the threshold , must have been a slow day for Police that day!

Could of been in one of the many 50 zones which would make sense..Otherwise this is ridiculously harsh
