Looks like Hougaard is turning Japanese....
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I still think the money will be better spent elsewhere. Yes, I know he can play wing, but it's not like we haven't two very good 9's!

Exeter were ahead of us to sign him anyway.

Most SA players are looking to Japan ATM Barr the odd few.

I for one really hope Bayonne go down so we could keep Tait...he has been our player of the season for me and is one of the few international class backs we possess..

He should of played more 13 for us as outshone a ball bereft Daly yesterday...

Here's hoping anyway :smt023

Hoping for a 12 of Loamanu (who I have always said is Manu no. 2) and Tait in the centres next week.. :smt023

If fit i'd prefer Allen at 12, even with little match time BUT, like your thinking and wouldn't be upset with Loamanu at 12

I know what you mean it would be the tried and tested combo, however I just think this has the X factor of power at 12 with fleet of foot at 13 which would complement each other perfectly..

I've often thought we've missed a trick by having a rapier at 12 and a broadsword at 13.....other way around could be far more devastating :smt023

Salvi finally announced as off to Exeter.

So ATM our needs IMO are in order of my piroity:
12 ?, Allen, Roberts Would be a good mix with Bai covering 10 more whilst williams is out.
15 We could go with something like Morris, Bell, Betham I guess but wouldn't say no to a top player here.
9 Would like to see Tresidder brought up but with Youngs likely away for england we will def need another SH.
6/7 Would like to either see us go big or Promote Owen/Thacker/Beckett
LK IMO Wells should be signed up.

12- Vital
15- Hoping that Tait will stay if Bayonne get relegated :smt023
9- Agree
6/7- Cannot see us going big so will have to be the latter
Lk- Surely Whetton is going to develop into something good (a la Sam Whitelock :smt003 ) To be fair I haven't seen anything of Wells so can't comment

Agreed, in principal.

12.... Must have. Allen, whilst a very good league level player, has been missing far too much recently, and with Manu out too, it's been a killer. Bai showed the impact he can have early on in physically imposing himself in midfield, but then a moment of madness and we were up against it. Not sure who to sign though.

15.... Morris showed up well, but I'd still like to see another signing. Tait staying would do, if Bayonne get relegated. Or Pennell if Worcester don't make it through the playoffs.

9.... Whilst I'm all for Tresidder getting a vote of confidence, can't say I'd be too comfortable with the depth given Youngs is going to be away on international duty a lot. Having Harrison and Tresidder to fall back on is fine, but we're one injury away from trouble.

7.... I was all for adding another 7, but I'm coming round to the idea of O'Connor, McCafferey and Owen/Thacker as options.

4/5.... Adding Fitzgerald, plus Williams, I think the retention of Whetton and/or Wells will be just fine.

I did wonder about Bristow going, would he need replacing, but with Brugnara and Pasqualli developing well, plus Sio??? we may be just fine.

I'm sure Tigers may leave a little budget leftover for any emergency signings.

Yeah I would love for us to sign Stringer on 1 year deal for the WC year!

He might be getting on but you can tell when he comes on for bath that the tempo goes up a notch.
