Gloucester up next
Looking forward to this game, always a great battle and never a side to under estimate. Glaws seem to be under performing from the bits I've seen on the tv, missing their skipper away with England more than we seem to be missing YBY. The younger of the Burns looks useful with the boot, especially off the tee, so discipline will have to be good.
I would expect some major changes up front in the backs, not that sure who's fit. Parling ruled from Englands squad with injury, so does that mean we lose Kitch?

"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

We should have Kitchen as they'll keep Croft and Easter on the bench covering lock.tigerburnie wrote:Looking forward to this game, always a great battle and never a side to under estimate. Lancaster has been quoted as saying they intend to keep the same 23 in the match day squad.

Unfortunate, but combined with Allen's injury may give Jack Roberts an AP start, or at least a bench seat with Bai starting at 12.RagingBull wrote:Word on the street is Williams may be out for a while.
Re: Gloucester up next
We will likely have Burns vs Burns.
I want to see Roberts and Catchpole continue at centre for this game.
Finally Gineva would be back on the wing.
But I predict Bai and Goneva will be 12 and 13.

Maybe but the length of this injury is very very bad for us.Hot_Charlie wrote:Unfortunate, but combined with Allen's injury may give Jack Roberts an AP start, or at least a bench seat with Bai starting at 12.RagingBull wrote:Word on the street is Williams may be out for a while.
Re: Gloucester up next
Gutted to hear about Williams. Hopefully not out for too long.
It does give a chance for Burns to show us what he can do now. A few games at 10, with a pack that is now (usually) going forward, rather than back like we had in the opening few weeks of the season.
Edit: http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leice ... story.html Just saw this in the Mercury. Burns should be good for this weekend, Williams being assessed.
And the usual returnees mentioned... Whether they will though!

Re: Gloucester up next
Throwing in Roberts and Catchpole together as a centre pairing would be ridiculous in a game that we really need to win. Gloucester would rightly target them. Either of them paired with someone more experienced (Bai and Catchpole perhaps) I could agree with, but to throw in two guys for their Premiership debut together as a pairing is asking for trouble.
Likewise I don't tend to agree that Pearce is ready to be thrown in yet. He's still very raw. I grant you his ball carrying is superb but his work at the breakdown and at the base of the scrum needs a bit of work yet. That's certainly Cockers' view.

Re: Gloucester up next
Must win game for us 4 points are a minimum for me. Be nice to see Burns start against his brother and get a run of games with a more first choice pack in front of him i think this could be his real turning point especially if Williams is out for a number of weeks!
Re: Gloucester up next
Huge problem for us at hooker now England under 20s have our 2 hookers in the squad, if I have got it right! Uncontested scrums anyone!! What a farce, if both Farnsworth and Thacker have been called up and typical thoughtlessness of England. Thacker would be far better off playing v Gloucester. Gutted. Come on Tigers.
