Harrison has just overtaken him on form - he's been excellent recently.

And when he has played, he's been poor (very poor in some games)

I think Cockerill still remembers Mele's performance against Wasps where he was woeful. He's third in the pecking order on merit at the minute.

He is on the naughty step since his kick got charged down and the opposition scored at the beginning of the second half of the match at Welford Road.

When he is in form he is a very good player, this season he just doesn't seem to have hit the ground running. Sure he will want to put that right and show us all what a threat he can be with the ball in hand.

We both remember him being the difference at Melrose - one of the only players interested in winning. I half-suspect some differences of opinion or maybe he gave a Gallic goose to somebodies wife/girlfriend au Goodey :smt004

how many bad games did YBY have last season in a row and he was never dropped by Cockers, plainly not a level playing field then

He has played non stop rugby for the past two seasons and played for England in the summer, I recall a couple of tired performances, don't remember any bad ones. I also recall Mele getting a go, pity he wasn't able to sustain some of his often very good play. He started at Melrose and has been said by JG, a standout performance from a somewhat largely indifferent display from the team, just not been able to sustain it and rightly he has been passed by Sam. Sam has not however shown he is ready to take over the captains job just yet. Over the next few weeks he may be able to show us just what he can do whilst YBY is away playing for his country.

One is bound to ask why a scrum half of his talent should even consider becoming third choice at the tigers when he would be first choice elsewhere?
