Have on occassions seen one of, or possibly both Peters walking through the crumbie tunnel, anyone else seen them? Next time I see one i'm going to take £20 out of my pocket and invite them into ABC or Mark bar to buy a drink. Think I might ask them to queue for me, get a pint of guiness, small bottle of wine, a pint of bitter, a hot chocolate and a hot pie, whilst i go and find a table near enough for us to sit and watch the prematch goings on on our wonderful TVs.

I wonder if they will accept, or possibly say they dont have time as they are on way to hospitality?

If anyone else spots them before me, perhaps you could also try this? :smt043 :smt005

PS anyone bought a bottle of water, most expensive water in the world.

OK so it's about football and not specifically about catering facilities. But it really is a good example of what I meant a couple of posts back in terms of the club taking a broad view and acceptancing responsinbility for the whole match day experience. And actually walking the walk in terms of looking after the supporters. Wouldn't it be nice if we all really wanted to get down to Welford Road 1-2 hours before kick off. And if we could get reasonably priced and decent quality food and drink. And that we could get served with a speed and efficiency that meant we could watch the full game without waiting in queues.

Don't hold your breath !
Things would have to alter drastically to entice me there I'm afraid.
Shame though as it does sound V appealing!

I have been trying to talk to the club for the last three years about 'Match Day Experience' but they don't care! They have their corporate seats getting 3/4 sold for most games which they are obviously happy with and they have no interest in improving service, food, beer quality for the fans whatsoever!

Matchday Experience is an alien concept to our club, which is a shame as they are too blind/stupid/apathetic to care!
If winning isn't everything, why do they bother keeping score?

Were the bars any better last night? I have to say after last week's experience I chose to vote with my feet and had a very pleasant time in the Slug & Lettuce with some Ulster fans before the game. There was a great choice of excellent beer, I got served almost straight away and I think I was much happier for not enduring the omnishambles of the Final Whistle.

A shame, as there's so much potential with the bar areas at Welford Road.

Atmosphere in the Final whistle was great last night as you would expect. We go there every match because of the band and the atmosphere that they help generate.

As to the service - shambles as always. Service fairly friendly but orders wrong and prices/ change a lottery. I even tried pointing at the right pump and that didn't help.

ABC absolutely useless again last night.

They need to get the people who aren't queuing out the way, and people having a chat on the stairs need to understand they are part of the problem with getting imely service in the ABC.

Noticed a heap of new Heineken pumps in the ABC, including a brand new one that no one was using - start of positive change.

What wasn't positive?

Turning up 55 minutes before the game and only getting to my seat 15 minutes before kickoff. a whole 40 minutes queuing for a pint - utterly shambolic. Four pint areas, 5 people behind the bar - the vendor is cutting costs through staffing, last year it was two per area minimum with a supervisor for good measure.

It's an absolute joke! Even the Ulster fans couldn't believe the wait, the cost and over an inch of head on every pint served - I was ashamed. Truly Ashamed.

Tigers you need to sort this out, I am a loyal supporter, but you will leave me no choice but to do what the group behind me does every game, bring my own if this keeps happening!

I was wondering whether anyone in the Club actually reads any of these posts, let alone do anything about them, when I noticed that the Facilities Manager for the Club is a Stuart Barnes - shall we give up now??!! :smt005

Well, we got to the ground early walked into the Final Whistle saw one bloke given a pint with a 1 inch head and a leaky plastic cup and decided - enough is enough so all 6 of us went to the "Pub" on new walk - much nicer , got served in a few mins and great beer.
Went into the Whistle after to watch the band and saw several people drinking out of cans !
Seems the word is spreading about bring your own. :smt030

I have to totally support Speedski's comment about the ABC. We got there early and got our drinks in about 10 mins. Whilst we were waiting another man came in and announced to the room he had been sent to pull some beer !!!!!!. The person who was serving the gentleman 2 in front of me who had ordered a pie responded to his request for information regarding the location of forks by saying " I know where they are - I will go and get one for you" instead of pointing him in the right direction ( would be better to give a fork from a stack next to the pies at the time of service). I saw no evidence of any beer of any description pre - pulled as promised before the game.

Half time was a :censored: DISGRACE!!!! I got in 4 mins before the whistle and had to wait until almost the start of the 2nd half before I got to the bar. When I left people were at least 10 deep in every line and standing on the stairs - MADNESS!!!!! This was on a night when the attendance was under 20,000.

Why continue to serve food from the bar?

Why is there not more staff on? 4 in the ABC to start is not enough

Why is there not 50 pints of everything pre - pulled and one member of staff replenishing the pre - pulled stock before the match and at half time?

Bring back Carol please - she knew what to do - the current lot haven't a clue

I would love a response to this but won't hold my breath

ps - taken so long to post as I could not log on for some reason
Hehehehehehehehe

The power of the forum. Over 300 posts 27,500 views and still inept service.

I think we can conclude either a)no one in authority reads the forum or b) they just don't care as I guess enough money is pouring in (no pun intended)

Just had a call from the club for a customer service questionnaire. It seems they are doing a round of these over the phone. I pointed to the bar service and how dismal it was, and how this thread is a strong indicator that people don't feel anything is improving.

I was told they are well aware it is something they need to improve as almost everyone is providing the same complaint.

Ooh hello! Some response!!

http://www.leicestertigers.com/news/210 ... FfAYFOsXg4
Leicester Tigers are aware that there have been issues with the quality of service at bars in some areas of Welford Road, particularly at the Ulster fixture. We are working hard to make improvements throughout the remainder of the season, starting with the next home fixture.

Tigers chief executive Simon Cohen acknowledges that this is an important part of the matchday experience and it is essential that improvements are made quickly.

"We know that a day out at Tigers is first and foremost about what happens on the pitch, but Welford Road is enjoyed for more than just 80 minutes, and socialising is a big part of a Tigers matchday," he said.

"We understand it's important that we get this right, and we want our supporters to know what we are doing to make things better."

Tigers will be introducing new facilities and systems in the coming weeks, designed to make service more efficient, including the employment of an additional 50 event agency staff to work in bars and catering outlets.

We also propose to separate the food and refreshments in certain bars where space is at a premium to help with customer service.

A number of other improvements will also be in place for the Barbarians match this week, including:
All catering staff will receive additional basic skills training.
Speed bar system to be employed in the Captains Bar with additional tills.
Food service in the Captains Bar to be moved to a separate counter.
No hot food served from the main bars in the Final Whistle, only from the food concessions, one of which will remain open after the match.
Speed bar system to be introduced in the ABC Bar with additional tills.
Food service in the ABC Bar to be moved to the Crumbie Lounge.
New area for supporters to stand in the ABC Bar away from the service area.
Experienced Tigers supervisor to be introduced in the ABC Bar.
Further staff recruited and more incentives in place to make sure we can attract and keep better-quality staff.
We are always looking for feedback on your matchday with Tigers. We are aware of comments made on the fans' forum and we have a team of Customer Service staff around the stadium monitoring the bar areas. If you would like to make any comments, or know of anyone with bar or service experience who may be interested to get involved, please email [email protected] or on matchday you can use our customer service text service to let us know of any issues by sending 'TIGERS' plus your message to 88010.
Well hallelujah and praise be!!!

Let's see if it works.

Positive start. Let's see if they can get it right.....for more than one game! Can we also look at the prices too as we're pretty much the most expensive club I've been to so far!
