All? What about those supporters who play or are otherwise involved in their own club rugby on Saturdays?
Generally agreed although the end of August Saturday would have worked well for us (at the moment, until somebody somewhere changes a timetable at the last minute!).
I know these friendlies won't be as intense as competitive matches but the extra day for the players between the last friendly and the start of the season will be welcome.
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game
It occurred to me that we will be going in to Edinburgh on the Friday 22nd, driving to Musselburgh from Melrose and catching the train in. If anyone is staying in Melrose and wants a lift/share, we will have room for 3 in the back. PM me if you want to arrange.

Nottingham game - if you have a bike you can get in your car, park at Queens Drive Park and Ride (Notts end of A453, two roundabouts south on ring road from Queens Medical Centre) and you can get a £1 park&bike ticket. Cycle along the river path, cross the river by the second (old) bridge (i.e. not Wilford Bridge and before Trent Bridge) continue on the other side of the river under Trent Bridge, past the Forest ground and you come to Lady Bay Bridge. Turn right and cycle down the side of the sports ground to the main gate.
It's about 15 mins.
For those able to, it is the quickest, cheapest and most wendyball-free route.

Guess it might have proved to big a step up for some of the young lads as a whole.
Think it might have proved something alright - watch for a couple of those lads to disappear to other clubs - there were at least two who were clearly not up to it at all.
I assume the club is halving the ticket price?

Who would you say they were.
I feel Rhys and David Williams will be kept around because they have shown some very good attacking skills and are both just turned 18, so against a good championship team that is certainly a step up.
IMO a championship team like Nottingham would beat most LV cups teams.
1 Rhys Williams, David Williams, the locks,Crane, Gibson and Javier Pohe did not impress me. Sio, Bai and Croftie did! What was the matter with Gibson, he looked either out of sorts, unconcerned or way off fitness.
2 I'm not going to the Blues match unless a biblical flood determines the Yorkshire Dales unwalkable on Friday next, hopeful to be in a pub in Long Preston after a day up Wharfedale or similar.

The club seem to be getting quite good at finding these unkowns as above, Sio and Bai impressed which is good.
I'm disappointed Tigers couldn't honour this fixture but understand the need to look after senior players although I expect it will be senior players running out against Cardiff which would be odd, have to wait and see.
With Pasquali, H.Thacker, Brugnara, Wells and Price front five, Owen an age group international 7, Pohe, Catchpole and then development players with the odd older academy player surely it could have been achieved but perhaps after reading the above they simply are not up to it.
