So the mind games begin, wonder when they claim to be the under dogs?

Re: Northampton v Leicester
Think Cockers has already gave us the title of 'under dogs'. I aint being doom and gloom and i will try and Keep the Faith but i have this feeling in my gut that Saints will gain revenge this Friday night.
POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE.
Re: Northampton v Leicester
The mind games started early last week if I remember correctly.

Re: Northampton v Leicester
All this 'we are the underdog' stuff 'does my head in'.
My simple rule...what do the betting markets say:
Saints 8/13
Tigers 11/8
Draw 22/1
Handicaps have Saints -3. They are slight favourites - simples
Now Quins are what I call true 'under-dogs' at 11/4, Saracens 2/7, Draw 25/1. Handicap Quins +8.

Re: Northampton v Leicester
IMHO Quins have the game to beat Sarries I'm sure they will give it a damn good go!
We will need A+ game at Saints & if Floody starts we need to keep late hitter Lawes well away from him as I'm also sure they will target him!

Re: Northampton v Leicester
Havong seen Lawes do self-same late hit on Ford, can we now stop the pretence that
1 it is a genuine tackle
2 it is not a cynical policy to take out major playmakers.
It is deliberate on both counts and we have multiple examples.

Re: Northampton v Leicester
The team selection will be interesting.
I Imagine cockers will go:
1. Ayerza
2. OTY
3. Logo
5. Slater
7. Salvi
8. Crane
9. YBY
10. Williams (if fit)
11. Goneva
12. Allen
13. Manu
15. Tait
And then take a deep breath!
Against Saints, I would have the other lock as Parling (if fit) otherwise Deacon, with Kitchener on the bench - but any combination would be good
6. Will be interesting. A fit Croft would start, I doubt he is, but if so Gibson would need to be cover on the bench. Most likely we will start with Gibson and personally I would go for Matera on the bench - but having the choice of 4 internationals for the bench is a great problem to have (although TTE may still be on the naughty bench).
14. Scully or Morris
Balmain and Briggs and Bristow? should be on the bench, with the spare lock and Matera/Croft, Mele, Flood and Scully or Morris.
Whoever plays, it will be a great team with great players left out. We just need to turn up and not make any silly mistakes. This could be a great game.

Re: Northampton v Leicester
All the pressure is going to be on Northampton... they are at home... they finished second... they want revenge...they could be the team that puts a stop to our annual trip to HQ...and they cant beat us.
What have we got? We are the under dogs and are playing away from home where statistics favour the home side. This takes the pressure off of us because if we loose then all the media will say it was a tough call and we weren't expected to win.
What we do have to do is concentrate, keep the penalty count down to the absolute minimum and out play them.
I really believe we can win this one... and I cant wait.

I too feel the run against Northampton will come to an end on Friday. I don't want it to, but something inside is telling me it will.

Oh dear that's just improved Saints chances....
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
