Re: Tigers v Saracens
Tim W needs a rest, he's lost confidence. I read a report of the Sarries v Worcester match that said that he "never threatened to take control of the match"! Have a rest over the summer and come back for the start of next season.

Re: Tigers v Saracens
today's Leicester Mercury said that providing he comes through training unscathed this week Tom Croft will be on the 23 this weekend, an amazing recovery if true

Re: Tigers v Saracens
Will be great to see Croft and Mafi back in the mix. Some nice words from Cockerill about Mafi. However, it does fog things up for Cockerill selection wise. Hard to get these guys match fit at this stage of the season. And it means messing with the side even more.
If Sarries do rest a lot of players there will be a lot of pressure on us to win the game. Don't want to be losing at home to their B team. Also want to avoid playing them at their place in the semi. I think they will be more vulnerable in the final on a number of counts.

Re: Tigers v Saracens
It would be understandable if Sarries did rest some of their key players. The final match against us will have little bearing on the semis so, win, lose or draw, the result is pretty much inconsequential to them so they can afford to give some players a break before their HC final.
It does mean, though, that the players coming in to replace them will, not only be rested already, but also have aspirations of claiming a starting position for their HC match!

Re: Tigers v Saracens
There's a post on the Sorries unoffy that intimates both sides will field "mixed" sides, I somehow find that unlikely.

Re: Tigers v Saracens
You have to assume that with their Stade Francais playoff looming Wasps will rest their top players @ Saints so a semi at the Gardens is the likely outcome for us. Tigers resting some key players this weekend would then make sense.
A citizen of hope and glory
Re: Tigers v Saracens
I'd be surprised if we rest players - a semi at Saints is more appealing than a semi at Saracens.
That said we may not want to give too much away against the side we may well face if we get through the semi.

Re: Tigers v Saracens
I fully expect first XV and strongest 23 possible from Tigers this weekend. Business end of the season so time to field the best we have.
Almost certain Saracens will put the B team out. Same for Wasps. Can't see any logic in either of them playing their best teams on Saturday as they have more important commitments coming.
I expect us to win and set up a trip to Saints. Personally wouldn't mind being at the Stoop on Saturday for their winner takes all match. Could be a minor classic!

More chance picking the euromillions than that team!
