Thread title reminds me of my friend's farmer uncle near Carmarthen back in the 1960s who when threatened by the Ministry of Agriculture, as it then was, begrudgingly put the "the electric" into his cowsheds but didn't put it into his farmhouse though as he couldn't see the point!
