OK, who's got snow? (or welcome to spring!)

Post by BJ. »

Woke up this morning to the best part of 10cm of the white stuff. It's still coming now and, according to the Beeb forecast, it ain't gonna stop until Sunday morning. We've got to get to Manchester airport for a 16.00 flight on Sunday - should be fun!
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

Roads are clear round here, more snow forecast. Daughter is in Worcester and there doesn't seem to be that much there from the Cathedral webcam. Good luck and safe travels to everyone!

It's been snowing here for days, but we can still get around, coast roads are clear but you don't have to venture far inland to find blocked roads. I'm so supposed to be going shopping in Glasgow tomorrow, so sad I won't be able to go now...................................... :smt026

Been snowing steadily but fairly lightly all night in south Leics, haven't been out to measure it but the side roads like ours are covered with maybe 3 inches or so. The garden is full of birds on the feeders, don't forget to put fresh water out for them too if you can.

Plenty round here today. Went to Birmingham last night; not as bad as was forecast for that area. Snowing heavily in the city when we left but once out on the motorway it was mostly sleet/rain.

next to nothing down here in Hertfordshire. but the egrets are still on the river. not snowing at the moment and it's above freezing so I don't suppose it'll get any worse.

I feel sorry for those badly affected. must be awful in N Ireland.

We had another 10cm overnight which meant I had 20cm to clear off the drive earlier (no point in clearing it yesterday as the car wasn't going anywhere). It's still falling but in tiny flakes and the roads are staying clear. However, I don't think I'll be passing the Cat and Fiddle on my way to Manchester Airport tomorrow. The boring A38-A50-M6 route beckons. :smt009

I know the weather is dreadful for many, but is it only me who chuckles when the
weather forecasters announce a yellow snow warning?

I'm in Siberia and it is definitely cold with snow on the ground. I'm quite far south but it still does not get light until about 8.30 am and is dark very early as well.

and the egrets on my river at home arrived early October. Last year their relatively early arrival heralded a hard winter so let's see what this year brings.
