This may be why there are no close ups of the shirt. In Cole's picture it looks amended.
It looks like someone has pointed this out as it has been amended on the Canterbury site:

Perhaps it was just my tired old eyes but on occasions yesterday I was having difficulties seeing the players in their 'black and carbon' strip against the backdrop of the Crumblie.
Was it just me?
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.
No it wasn't just you BJ. I too found it hard to pick out players against the backdrop of the crowd.
In fact for the first 20 mins or so it appeared that the players were struggling to see each other.
I actually quite like the kit. Can someone who owns one of the new shirts just give me a quick idea on the sizing please, and how it compares to the cotton traders sizing?
I know the sizing charts are easy to find, however i have more trust in someone who can compare both the old kit sizing against the new one (if you see what i mean). Many thanks in advance.
And now you see why New Zealand get away with so much - black strips hide a multitude of sins - did you notice how few penalties we gave away yesterday?
For when the One Great Scorer comes to write against your name,
He marks - not that you won or lost - but how you played the Game."
I agree the European kit is a vast improvement on the technicolour yawn that the current home kit is.
However black was a strange choice when both Toulouse and Ospreys play in back and thus we wont be able to wear it for at least 2 of our away group matches. It remains to be seen if it gets more than the 4 outings!
